The Craylands School Newsletter Upcoming Events Dear Parents/Carers, Well what a scorcher of a week it has been—the children have coped remarkably well in school with the heat this week! Please do continue to send them in with a named water bottle and hat every day and also apply sun cream before coming to school—thank you! This week we welcome back Mrs Dymott from maternity leave who has been teaching in Hungry Caterpillar class to cover Mrs Gubby. Mrs Gubby has been very busy visiting the new Reception childrens nurseries and doing home visits. We look forward to welcoming the new children to Craylands School soon. Surviving the heat this week, were many of Morpurgo class who attended The Isle of Wight for their residential trip. Whilst there, they took part in a wide range of activities and Mrs Bishop and Mr Hiscock have informed me they have all thoroughly enjoyed the Experience. They have loved the beach, rides at Blackgang Chine and Robin Hill country park. I hope that they have developed their Craylearnng skills further by taking sensible risks and never giving up. A huge thank you to Mrs Bishop, Mr Hiscock, Mrs Scarborough and Mrs Chandler for accompanying the children. Thank you to those parents that came into school this week to watch the sex education video in preparation for the children to be taught these lessons. Hopefully you have already let us know if you do not wish for your child to partake in these lessons. Next week we look forward to the Reception trip to Shorne Country Park on Monday 2nd July for Hungry Caterpillar class and Friday 13th July for Rainbow Fish class as well as the Year 1 and 2 trip to Hastings Blue Reef Aquarium and Seafront on Friday 6th July. Im sure the children will really enjoy these fantastic experiences organised for them. I have noticed in the mornings that many cars are not using the full length of the drop off zone. Please can I ask that if there is a space in front of you in the drop off zone, you drive down as far as possible so we do not block the traffic on the main road—thank you. There are just three weeks left of the academic year and I urge you to ensure that your child attends on time as many of these days as possible; there is still lots of learning to do and if they are absent between now and the end of term and then have the summer break, they will struggle at the beginning of next academic year. Thank you for your continued support in this. Have a lovely weekend.
