Introduction

‘Compensation event’ is the NEC3 name for claims and variations. However, compared with other contracts, there are different definitions of compensation events, different processes and timescales (with time-bars cutting off entitlement) and different criteria by which the time and cost are assessed. So any party going into an NEC3 contract thinking they can run it ‘the old way’ risks being severely hurt.

This course is aimed at those who manage and administrate the assessment of compensation events on whichever side of the contractual fence they sit. It will give any organisation attending it a significant commercial advantage over another party who has not attended it.
