200 years later the new paradigm had been accepted, and 350 years later in 1992 the Vatican rehabilitated Galileo Galilei.

Galileo Galilei (1564 to 1642) delivered the evidence that the sun and not the earth is at the center of the universe, and that the earth is travelling around the sun instead. Initially he believed that he could convince the church with this exciting news. However, the new para-digm was considered absurd and heresy. Galilei was forced to deny his convictions and lived the rest of his life under arrest.
