The Conclusion of 3rd I.S.S.F Weightlifting

Championships

The 3rd I.S.S.F Weightlifting Championships which was held in Antalya, Turkey

during the period 10-18 march 2015 in cooperation with the Olympic Committee

of Turkey has been concluded.

The following fourteen Islamic countries have taken part in the Championships:

Azerbaijan, Uganda, UAE, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Saudi Arabia,

Turkey, Algeria, Bosnia, Tunis, Qatar, Iraq and Gambia (did not participate in the

sport events of the Championships.

The results and ranking of the winners are as following:

Men category Women category

1- Turkey, 1- Turkey

2- Iraq 2- Algeria

3- Qatar 3- Tunis

The I.S.S.F. has highly praised the good cooperation of the Olympic Committee

of Turkey and the Head of Organizing Committee of the Championships and

president of the Weight Lifting Federation of Turkey Mr. Tamer Taşpinar and his

assistants for facilitating the participation of Islamic countries in the

Championships and for the good organization.

Mr. Mohammed Galoud, Member of the International Weightlifting Federation

has also praised the good organization of the Championships and confirmed that

the organization standards are very comparable to the organization of World

Weightlifting Championships.

Conclusion of Qatar Triathlon Islamic Championships Both His Highness Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the General Secretary of the NOC of Qatar and His Excellency Mr. Faisal

Abdul Aziz, the General Secretary of I.S.S.F handed over medals of victory to the winners at Qatar Triathlon Islamic championships for the

events they have competed in and won during Friday, 13 March, 2015.

The competitions were held in the campus of “Celine “Area in Qatar.

The total awards (prize money) of the Championships in Qatar have exceeded two million Riyals.

His Highness Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani expressed his happiness to see the local edition No. 16 as well as the

international edition No. 2 of the Championships in Qatar under the patronage of I.S.S.F.

He said” the Championships have witnessed a lot of evolvement this year and the awards / prize money have been increased (i.e. from

one million to 2 million Riyals) and this year program has included new age- categories of kids, youth, juniors and seniors”.

He added “Our intention is to urge youngsters to practice this sport and adopt the saying of Caliphate Al Musclemen Omar Bin Al

Khatab (teach your children swimming, shooting and horse riding).

Mr. Al Nassar has also expressed his happiness to see the comfortable atmosphere during the Championships in “Celine”.

Mr. Al Nassar has noted that “the Championships were held through an initiative of our Brothers in Qatar”.

He also said” we are looking forward to seeing this sport as one of the sports in the International completions”.

He added” we have the honor to be in Qatar for the second time to see a continuation of Qatar initiative and we wish a bright future

for this sport.

Baku, Azerbaijan is the venue for holding The 1st Olympic Games for Europe

The European Olympic Committee has decided to hold a new edition of Sport Games for Europe.

The Games will include variety of Sports to be held during the period 12-28 June 2015 in Baku (the capital city of Azerbaijan).

20 countries will be sending 49 thousands athletes to participate in the Games and the competitions will be held on the National

Stadium, the Main Gymnastic Hall, Baku Aqua Center, Track Cycling, Baku Shooting Center, water polo Gym, Coastal Sport

Square, Handball Indoor, Mountain Cycling Track, Triathlon and Cycling Facilities.

The athletes will be accommodated in Olympic Village.

However, it is worthy to indicate herewith that Azerbaijan is one of the three members of the I.S.S.F. who are located in the

Continent of Europe, and that Azerbaijan is going to organize the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017.

Melaka city in Malaysia will host the “1st Islamic Championships for

Rugby”.

Melaka city in Malaysia will be hosting Al-Hilal Rugby Championships during the period 1-14 June 2015.

The Championships is the first of its kind, held under the patronage of I.S.S.F.

The ISSF president has received an invitation letter from the Head of the Organizing Committee of the Championships to attend

a lunch party of the Championships to be held on 9 April 2015, and to join the meeting of the organizing to review the

preparations made.

Preparation of Palembang city to host the Islamic International Tennis Championships

The Organizing Committee of the “Islamic International Tennis Championships” has forwarded the “Fact Sheet” of the

Championships to all National Federations.

The document thereof has included all data related to the matches/competitions of the championships which will be held during

the period 10-18 May, 2015 in Palembang city in Indonesia.

The organizing Committee will be establishing the Technical Committee of the Championships and Referees/Judges to conduct

the matches as per the Rules and Regulations of the Asian Tennis Federation.

Al Wajeeh athlete from Yemen is on the Victory Stage, again, during the Islamic Triathlon Championships in

Qatar.

The Yemeni sport star athlete Al Wajeeh is shining again during the Islamic Triathlon Championships

held in Qatar.

Last year, Al Wajeeh achieved the Gold medal for youth of the Same Triathlon Championships

(shooting, swimming and horse riding).

The championships is an international meeting held under the supervision of I.S.S.F. and valuable

awards/prize money are assigned for winners that amount to $100 (one hundred thousand us dollar for

the winner of first position in each of the Youth, Junior and Senior categories.

The NOC of Yemen has nominated athlete Al Wajeeh to participate in this important competition for

the second time.

He was fairly honored by the NOC of Yemen for his achievements of last year, and then he was

delegated to hold training camps in Kuwait, and South Korea before 2015 Championships.

He is a talented promising athlete and lucky to be a member of a sport family. His father is a prominent

sport type person and he himself is a champion in shooting and horse riding sports. He has a promising

talented brother in long distance running event.

Al –Wajeeh had a pleasant welcoming at the airport of Sanaa when he went back to his home country

Yemen.

Al – Wajeeh is big hope for Rio 2016 Olympic Games

A new record achieved during the ISSF Weight lifting Championships The athlete from Turky Mr. Ismail Deniar has a achieved a new record during the

3rd ISSF weight lifting Championships held in Antalya, Turkey in 77 kg category

in ‘”clean” weight lifting event 154 kG.

The old record in this event was achieved by the Iraqi weight lifter Basem Hairam

who had 153 KG performance during the 1st ISSF weight lifting held in Saudi

Arabia in 2015
