STOW OHIO No. 12 MINISTER'S COLUMN The object of Mother's Day is to recognize the mothers living and dead, who have contributed to the advancement of civilization. It is altogether right * and fitting that the race of men should do this. Whet, my brother, father, son, the gratitude and apprecia- tion to often dormant, buried be- neath the hurry and fuss of life's commonplace. Stop a minute and think, deep and long, you will be the better off. The flowers, the bird*.', the hills, sky, stars will all have a message for you if you will stand by for a day. The irightest influence on your children is mother, when you strike mother, you strike the race. What honor, my brother man, ycu do the soldier, is he more worthy than mother? Sol- diers have been deified and wor- shipped from the beginning. Battlefields, with its blood and death, its hatred, its never ending sting can well be abolished from the calendar of life, but mother, Oh mother, the world needs you. Come then, my friend, honor where honor is due. Come along to the Church, wear a blossom, a spray of gratitude. Come to the quiet place where your soul may rest and be made strong. Come, let us think together of the best mother in all the world, your mother. The noblest thoughts my soul can claim, / The holiest words my tongue can framel, Unworthy are to praise the name More sacred than all other. A class in Bible Study is now te ing organized. Thursday night, 7:30 P. M. at the church each week has been set as the time and place of meeting. Mr. Leiby will teach the class. All who are

interested in a bat ter under-standing of the Bible are invited to attend.

At a party Monday evening given by Mrs. Hayden Davies, Slow, announcement was made of the marriage of Miss Esther Woodring to Castle V. Shakes-peare cf Munroe Falls. The an-nouncement was made to the fam-

ilies of the couple at a family dinner Sunday held at the home ci the bride's father C. M. Wood-ring, Darrowville.

The wedding took place June 16, 1932, in Mercer, Pa. on a "lovely rainy day." Mrs. Shakes-peare has been a life-long resi-dent of S;ow and a very faithful worker and member of o u r church.

For the present the young couple will make their home with the groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. B. Shakespeare, Munroe Falls.

We wish the bride much hap-piness and to the groom we ex-tend congratulations.
