A Thank You from Mary Lou Cobb On Tuesday afternoon I was pleased to reconnect with an old friend and past Cobb parent, Dr. Paula Chu. I was even more pleased to introduce her to our Upper Ele- mentary parents for a special seminar on raising healthy adolescents. Because I be- lieve so fervently in the importance of raising emotionally healthy children, Paula and I make a very good match. Paula has over 25 years of experience as a psychotherapist and health counselor, guid- ing dozens and dozens of adolescents and their families through what can be a turbu- lent time. She has also raised three children of her own. On Tuesday we enjoyed her lecture on the adolescent’s chief work — identity for- mation. She presented tangible tools for navigating our relationships with our chil- dren and had us reflecting on our own inclinations and hang-ups as well as chuckling at the pitfalls of parenting. If you were able to attend Tuesday’s discussion, you caught a wonderful glimpse at what Paula can offer. Thank you to all who participated. And thank you to Paula for sharing her wisdom. Surely we were all left with exercises in listen- ing and ideas to explore. A Thank You from Mary Lou Cobb

On Tuesday afternoon I was pleased to reconnect with an old friend and past Cobb parent, Dr. Paula Chu. I was even more pleased to introduce her to our Upper Ele-mentary parents for a special seminar on raising healthy adolescents. Because I be-lieve so fervently in the importance of raising emotionally healthy children, Paula and I make a very good match. The Cobb School Thanks... The Cobb School Welcomes...

...Please join us in welcoming our new handyman, Gerry Marciano! Gerry recently retired from an 18 year stint as a full-time Head Custodian at a nearby public school where he knew all the children, parents and staff. Soon he will know all of us, too! Gerry was a commercial and fine arts major at Paier College of Art and of late has been a potter extraordinaire! We look forward to having Gerry at our school every morning from 7am - 11am. Gerry will be getting the school ready in the morning before arrival, cleaning up after arrival, setting up for events, communi-cating with various building and grounds subcontractors and so forth. Say hello and give a warm welcome to Gerry.

...Laura Oliver and the Beautification Committee for, again, adorning the school in seasonal cheer! Your ef-forts never go unno-ticed or unappreciated. Thank you. If you would like to give Laura a hand, please let Windy Jansen know, and she’ll put you in contact with the Beau-tification Committee.

Notes & Reminders...

Festive Greenery and Holiday Bake Sale

On Wednesday, December 5, 2012, the 6th Years will be having a holiday bake sale and selling beautiful evergreen arrangements. They are raising money for their sister school, Yoezerling Primary School, in Paro, Bhutan and their sixth year trip. The sale will take place from 11:45-12:30 and from 3:00-3:30 in the library foyer. If you would like to contribute baked goods to the sale, it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact Johnnie, Mark or Bar-bara if you would like to participate. We hope to see you there, and thank you in advance for your support.

The Elementary Holiday Concert is approaching! That means our children will need white tops, blue bottoms and dress shoes. If you have any of these items you would like to donate to a fellow Cobb family, please drop your item with Miss Margaret in Reception. Our Swap Rack will be available in Reception until December 13. Thank you for helping our community recycle and reuse!
