An Invitation from Mary Lou Cobb On Wednesday I will host a Parent Coffee on The Montessori Approach to Discipline. I hope you will join me. Every year I return to this topic as new and returning parents want to know how Montessorians guide the developing will and ask me to offer strategies they can use at home. Disciplining our children is one of the greatest challenges we face as par- ents and one of the greatest gifts we can give them. I speak from my training, my research and my lived experiences. Marisa Gallagher and Joan Gwillim will join us Wednesday morning to share wis- dom they’ve also gained from decades of working with children. They will offer a teacher’s perspective and help us to see how our teachers, like our parents, ask themselves difficult questions regarding discipline and how they solve problems and proceed thoughtfully through challenging situations. Bring your questions and ideas and enjoy a cup of coffee over a very important topic. This Coffee is designed for parents of children of all ages. Although issues will occasionally focus on a particular developmental plane, there will un- doubtedly be parallels to draw to you own experiences.
