With the theme “CCT Graduates: Continuing Journey towards Excellence” , the City College of Tagaytay held its 14 th commencement exercises at Sigtuna Hall,Tagaytay International Convention Center (TICC) as a celebration of Free Education grants to 613 Tagaytay and Cavite 8 th district youths. The grateful graduates with their proud parents and relatives marched to a joyful tune of success on the blissful May 21, 2019 afternoon with high hopes that the diplomas they were to receive is a proof of attaining knowledge, skills and character that will serve as their passport to finding stable jobs. Like any other graduation ceremonies, this momentous celebration was well- attended by the faculty, administration staff, city officials and the city mayor. The highlight of the occasion was the message from the guest speaker who herself is a loving mom, public servant, and dentist, Hon. Mayor Agnes D. Tolentino of Tagaytay City. This year’s theme is a manifestation that the CCT is continuously moving forward to a higher level of awareness and participation. President Pacita Rosario Z. Aquino headed the awarding of medals to the 19 graduates who were recipients of Academic Silver Medal Achievement Award partitioned into 12 BSE, six BSBA and one BSIT as magna cum laude while the Academic Bronze Medal Achievement Award were given to five BSE and four BSBA graduates as cum laude. Mr. John David Pelaez delivered his message by discussing how he coped with the encountered difficulties in life and highlighted his visions and expectations that guided him to achieve the distinction as magna cum laude with highest honors. By this, everybody especially the batch of graduates, felt the essence of striving hard and the power of prayers plus the importance of upholding integrity. The School of Physical Education, Recreation and Sports is merged with the School of Arts and Sciences and will still be headed by Dean Segundo Sim. The office of the Gender and Development transferred to one of the fabricated rooms in the Office of the School of Student Affairs. The current OIC of the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management is Ms.Loreta B. Madrilejos The CCT extends its sympathy and condolences to the family of Mrs. Hazel Garcia, Director for Registration and Admission, for the death of her father, retired 2 nd Lt. Donato Mojica, last July 21, 2019. The Office of the registrar has already registered 1142 enrollees and set a quota of 1174 freshmen applicants as of July 22, 2019. According to Mr. J.M. Alcala, there were 1658 applicants who took computerized entrance exam while Mr. Arbid Amiscosa reported that _____ manually took the entrance exam. Despite high number of enrollees, each school indicated limitation in the number of sections per program due to shortage of classroom, laboratory and faculty members. Full time faculty members are commonly given 45 hours teaching load per week to cater to the needs of the program. At 35 students per section, the SBM will have six (6) sections each for BSBA, major in MM and HRDM, and two (2) sections for Office administration; the School of Computer Science will have two (2) sections for Computer Science and six (6) sections for Information Technology; the School of Education have only one (1) section for BSE Math major and two (2) sections each for majors in Filipino, English and Social Sciences.     Dr. Josefina R. Rint, RD&E director, conducted a

    Pilot Study on Community Needs Assessment of

    Bgy. Kaybagal Cental, Tagaytay City as Basis for

    the CCT’s Extension Services Action Plan” during

    the 2nd quarter of AY 2018. After analyzing the

    collected data, a meeting was held with the Barangay

    officials of Barangay Kaybagal,Central, Tagaytay

    City on Fewbruary 27, 2019 to present the results of

    the recently conducted study.

    The CCT’s extension services goal was defined and

    its major program entitled 6K Para Sa Maginhawa,

    Matatag At Malusog Na Pamayanan Program was

    presented. Findings revealed that the residents were

    interested to attend training that may be offered by the

    CCT that include improvement of skills, improvement

    of personality, starting a business, keep self-healthy.

    Barangay Chairman Eulogio Malabanan said that they

    were interested to have their barangay tanods trained on first aid since their place is an accident prone area;

    put up a cooperative for store owners, and; trainings on livelihood program to elevate the economic status

    of their residents, specifically the housewives.

    The CCT Manual of Operation for Research and Extension

    RD&E Commodity Needs Assessment of Barangay Kaybagal South

    The Manual of Operation for Research and Extension was prepared and deliberated by the RD&E Council. The final copy was submitted to the office of President Aquino last March 2019 for endorsement to and approval of the CCT Board of Trustees. This manual contains the guidelines in the conduct of faculty and student researches, the research and extension

    directions, actions and future plans. It also contain the benefits,

    privileges, rewards as motivating factors for the professional growth

    of faculty members.

    Brigada Eskwela

    The CCT Senior High School held Brigada Eskwela last May

    29-30, 2019. The faculty, staff and students joined hands in

    the beautification of the school that include painting the walls

    decorating the classrooms and cleaning the hallways. The

    students’ exerted efforts were well appreciated by their teachers

    who showed their gratitude by providing them with snacks.

    on June 20, 2019 at the CCT’s ANT Hall and elected the

    local government office to fill up the vacancy for the

    City College of Tagaytay Senior High School. All

    are LET passers and most of them graduated with

    honours from City College of Tagaytay. The

    The activity, however, was re-scheduled for deliberation on the third week of July due to enrollment-

    related activities of the assigned faculty members.

    In-house LET Review

    The School of Education started their In-House Review for the ‘Licensure Examination for

    Teachers’ in February 12, 2019 which focused on problem analysis to strengthen the student teachers’

    capability to correctly answer each item in the licensure exam. The review was attended by 104 BSE

    students every Friday, free of charge, prior to their graduation in May 21, 2019

    To provide the prospective teachers experience in taking the LET, a pre-test was done in

    February 8, 2019 that covers simulation of general education courses, professional education courses,

    and their respective major courses. A post-test will be given upon termination of the In-House Review.

    The In-House review was initiated by the SEd dean, Dr. Cristeta M. Montano and was

    approved by President Aquino with the blessing of Hon. Mayor Agnes Tolentino. The activity was

    diligently supported by the Department chairman, Mr. Virgilio Punzalan, the coordinators of each

    major course, Mrs. Eugenia Matel, Mr. Alexander C. Rodis, Mr. Jeffrey C. Garcia and other faculty

    members, Miss Anabel A. Sarner and Ms. Hannah N. Nahar.

    CHED Approves the CCT Curricular Programs

    2019 Faculty Graduates

    The CCT populace proudly congratulate its seven faculty members

    who graduated this SY 218-2019.

    Five faculty members gainfully graduated from the University of

    Perpetual Help System, of Biñan, Laguna during its 42nd Commencement

    Exercises which was held at the Plenary Hall of PICC, Pasay City last May 16,

    2019.

    Mrs. Jennifer Abellana graduated with PhD in Business Management

    and Mr.Jessie Madrazo Canapi with Master in Business Administration. The

    other three faculty members who finished their Master’s degree were Mrs.

    Joanna Belle L. Bawar with Master of Arts in Guidance Counselling; Mrs.

    Maria Lyn S. Alcances with Master of Art in Education major in Mathematics

    and Mrs. Maria Teresa B. Faminiano with Master of Arts in Education major

    in Teaching English as Second Language.

    Dr. Abellana was a recipient of Batch 2016 CHED Scholar while Mrs.

    Bawar, Mrs. Alcanses, Mrs. Faminiano and Mr. Capili were recipients of

    Batch 2017 CHED Scholars

    Meanwhile, Mr. Allan Gilles, also a CHED Scholar, graduated from

    the University of Santo Tomas which was held in June 8, 2019 at the UST

    Quadricentinial Pavilion with a degree of Master of Science major in Biology.

    The CCT also congratulate, Ms. Kristine Marie T. Ronario who

    studied at DLSU –D and graduated in July 17, 2019 with Master of Arts in

    |Education major in Physical Education.

    CCT Get Away Tour

    The faculty and staff of the City College of Tagaytay escaped from its hectic job schedules by

    having a one day relaxing trip to a resort in Los Baños, Laguna owned by the Honorable Mayor Agnes

    Tolentino in June 15, 2019. The trip was headed by President Aquino who made it a point that the

    faculty and staff would be able to bond together exchanging ideas while preparing the food to cook,

    relax and swim in the warm water of swimming pool, sing and laugh, pray and join in a boodle fight

    lunch.
