Church Family,When was the last time you have been broken

by your sin? I want to admit something with you...for me it had been too long. I found myself living with an “I’m ok” mindset with Jesus. I haven’t done anything too big sin-wise, so I was ok. I’m saved, so I must be okay with Jesus, right!? Everything was going well in my life. Sermons I was working on were coming together, prayers were being answered that I was praying for, and the church is in a sweet place. Everything is fine!

Everything is not fine! My heart was just okay. It was going through the motions, but

not really captivated by the fullness of God, but just fueled enough to stay ahead of things. In my life I tend to find myself in this terrible cycle with Jesus. I read my Bible and pray enough. Did you hear that sentence... ENOUGH! So, I broke. I found myself on the floor of my office pleading for Jesus’ forgiveness in my life. Asking Him to cleanse me and take full control of my life again. Begging Him to renew my passion and love of Him.

How about you? When was the last time you saw the terrible weight and desperation of your sin, and the passionate and full love of Jesus in your life? Where you saw that the best you can offer Jesus is worthless, and He still trades that for Himself. I pray you have that break moment like I needed. That you would renew your spiritual strength in Him. Where you find yourself broken before Him so that you can have the rebuilding of Jesus in your life today!
