A TASTE OF INDAIN CULTURE AT—“INDIGRAM - BHARTIYATA KI PEHCHAAN”
Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon dedicated its Senior School Annual Day
“Indigram- Bhartiyata ki Pehchaan” to former President and great scientist APJ Abdul
Kalam whose birthday is celebrated as ‘World Students Day’ ,on October15, 2016 in the
school premises .Indigram, as the name suggests, is a step taken by Amity -46, to motivate
our young generation to imbibe, incorporate and inculcate the feeling of patriotism and loy-
alty towards our country and reflecting on our roots in villages that is the mirror of purity of
the culture and traditions of a civilization. The event was graced by the illustrious Chief
Guest for the occasion, Mr.YSK Seshu Kumar, Joint Secretary in the Department of School
Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development and also Director Gen-
eral, National Literacy Mission Authority with the worthy guest of honour, Mr.Arunodya
Mukharji,Journalist, CNN News18, accompanied by the Chairperson of Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chau-
han. The Function commenced with mellifluous orchestra Mridangam – a euphonious blend of Indo – Western musical harmony
with raag Kalavati which is derived from carnatic music. The rhythm and cadence of contemporary instruments mesmerized the au-
dience. The School Principal ,Mrs. Arti Chopra presented the Annual report highlighting the innumerable academic, co-curricular
and sports achievements of the achievers at the National as well as International level, followed by the Victory saga which celebrated
the achievements of the students who had won accolades.A special musical performance by the students of Amitasha, an initiative by
Dr.(Mrs.) Amita Chauhan (Chairperson Amity Group of Schools) for the less privileged girl child captivated the spectators.The audi-
ence witnessed an ' ethos inspiring vision'. Villages are the backbone of our mighty nation.Amity truly believes that our youth will
make India a Super Power by 2020 so it is very important for the younger generations of India to make and take every opportunity to
work for the betterment of the underprivileged rural masses and become a part of the growth of the country. The spectacular musical
ballet delicately brought out this essence of the theme ‘Indigram’. Agrim Bharat, an exhibition of the states Bihar, Sikkim, Tripura
and Goa was displayed bythe students to showcase an insight into our heritage .

SCHOOL PAYS TRIBUTE TO SARDAR VALLABH BHAI PATEL—‘RASHTRIYA EKTA
DIVAS’
Amity 46 celebrated ‘Rashtriya Ekta Diwas ‘ to bring the noble ideas of
Sardar Patel alive. On the occasion of his Birth Anniversary, students
took the pledge to strive to maintain the unity and integrity of the coun-
try. To pay tribute to Sardar
Patel, the Iron Man of India,
who was instrumental in
keeping India united, stu-
dents made a ‘ Manav
Shrankhala- human chain’. This event was one-of-its-kind, which
endeavored to prepare the students to take on challenges with strong
emphasis on values and discipline and aimed to boost their self-
confidence, courage and mettle.
GROOMING WORKSHOP FOR CLASSES –VIII & IX
To deliver new and unique opportunities to all students and to improve
soft skills including verbal, non-verbal and written communication
skills, a number of workshops were conducted by Pria Warrick for the
students of classes 8th and 9th . Workshops for class 8th was based on
Polishing the table manners and learning Dining Etiquette and to make
the student understand their
emotions and handle differ-
ent situations. Students of
Class 9th were given tips to
understand Peer Group, and learn Social . The workshop mainly fo-
cused on the development of individual personality through environ-
ment and the ability to emulate and get inspired by good personali-
ties. Ms. Pria Warrick in her key note message said that there are no
shortcuts to success. . The workshop was positively received by all
the students and they thanked school Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra for
it. They came out enriched, more aware and also gave an insight into
clarity of thought.
CULINARY EXPERTISE SHOWCASED
Avni Khosla and Komal Thakran of Amity 46 did the school proud as
they served an extraordinary culinary treat at Budding Chef competition
2016, initiated by Vedatya. Around 23 schools from Delhi and NCR par-
ticipated in the event. After clearing multiple rounds both Avni and Ko-
mal were selected as the winner. The young chefs worked in teams and
prepared mouth-watering dishes within a short span of time. The school
principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra congratulated the winners for their successful
foray into the culinary world.

THE SPIRIT OF VICTORY AND COMPETITION
Khushi Thakran of class 7 , Satya of class 8C bagged gold medal and Divya Saini of class
6A bagged silver medal at 19th District Taekwondo Championship 2016 held at Sector 10A
Gurgaon. Principal, Amity Sector 46, Mrs. Arti Chopra congratulated and lauded the efforts
of all the winners, their parents and the coaches for the achievement.
STUDENTS GET SERIOUS ABOUT CLEANLINESS
To give a befitting tribute to Mahatma Gandhi who sent a quintessential
message to the nation through his efforts to educate people around him
about cleanliness, National Science Centre conducted several competi-
tions on Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan. Competiotion like Open House Quiz,
On the Spot Painting Contest, Nukkad Natak and Elocution Contest,
Creative Film Production of Swachhta were conducted.
Various schools from across the country participated in the event. The
students of Amity International School Sector 46, Gurgaon enthusiasti-
cally participated in the competition and applied their knowledge, obser-
vations and creativity to excel. 10 students of classes VIII presented an eye opening enactment – Nukkad Natak-
Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan won Second Prize and Devesi of Class 8 got encouragement prize for Elocution. School
Principal,Mrs. Arti Chopra lauded the efforts of the students and the teachers for their good work.
CHOOSING TO LEAD, GUIDE, INSPIRE & EMPOWER—22nd NATIONAL SAHODAYA
CONFERENCE
CBSE conducted 22nd National Sahodaya Conference from 21st-23rd October
‘2016 in Raipur, Chattisgarh. School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra took part in
the Conference as a resource person. This conference was the initiative of
CBSE to bring together the best of brains for some discussions on the direc-
tion and flow of skills & technology for the nation and the world in the next
decade under the main theme “Skill Development in the Changing Sce-
nario”. Approximately 800 Principals from CBSE schools, CBSE officials,
eminent speakers from IIT’s & IIM’s, technology gurus and skill researchers
took part in it to share about the skill advancements and their impact on our
education system and daily lives. The conference was inaugurated by
Dr.Raman Singh, Chief Minister
Chattisgarh , and the keynote speaker was none other than Shri
R.K.Chaturvedi ,Chairman. A number of discussions were conducted that
included Soft skills approach to Human Development, ICT Skills, Voca-
tional development, Integrated Role of Industry and Academic Institutions
in Bridging the Skill gap and Skill Development for Inclusivity. Mrs. Arti
Chopra, presented a case study on how ICT plays an eminent role in de-
veloping skills at Amity International School, Sector-46, Gurgaon. The
focus was on realization of effective integration of ICT into the educa-
tional system through a complex, multifaceted process that involved not
just technology, but also curriculum and pedagogy, institutional readiness,
teacher competencies, and long-term financing, among others.

AMITY 46 BAGS THE COVETED MACMILLAN AWARD FOR FOSTERING SCIENTIFIC
TALENT
Vaishali Tikko , a promising student of Class XII was awarded as a bud-
ding scientist for her project titled "Novel instrument to detect learning dis-
abilities in children" by Macmillan Education. Mrs. Arti Chopra ,School
Principal, Amity International School, Gurgaon-46- was also awarded by
Derk Haank, CEO Springer Nature and Sanjeev Goswami, MD, Macmillan
India in an illuminating ceremony for fostering scientific Talent. Amity 46
is on the path of progress with global education, fostering character build-
ing and nurturing the scientific temperament and strengthening social bond
as a part of its constant endeavor. The event was followed by an open
house discussion of School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra with eminent panel-
ist.
BATTLING IT OUT FOR THE TROPHY
CBSE Chess Championship 2016 North zone was held at Tarn Taran Punjab. Under 11 Boys Mix team got
Bronze medal and Shubham Goenka of Class 5 bagged Best Player Award and also got Best Board prize. The
team is now selected for CBSE National Chess Championship 2016. School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra lauded
the efforts of all the winners and said that chess helps to develop the academic tools of logic and reasoning,
problem solving and critical thinking needed for success.
THUMPING VICTORY THRILL STUDENTS
Students of Amity International School Sector 46. lifted the Champion-
ship trophy at the “GUARDIANS OF THE CATALYST” an event
hosted by DAV School to promote scientific attitude among young
students. The event saw young enthusiastic participants from 25
schools of Delhi NCR. Baldip Singh Bijlaini,Utkarsh Tyagi of class
XII and Vedant Mundheda of Class XI showcased their knowledge and
creative thinking and won the award. All appreciated the efforts put in
by the students. The judges applauded the students for their enthusiastic
preparation and participation. This mega event provided a platform for
students from different schools to interact and exchange information
and ideas in a stimulating and enjoyable environment. Students thanked School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra for
giving them an opportunity to take part in an event where they could showcase their knowledge and thereby fos-
ter the spirit of inquiry and innovation.

Amity`s Children`s Science Foundation together with Amity Group of
schools organized a ceremony at Amity University Noida, for felicitat-
ing the schools and teachers who have shown stellar performance in
all science activities. Amity being a pioneer in building scientific tem-
perament amongst its students, as it leads blending modesty and hu-
mility with self reliance and initiative and also emphasize on impart-
ing knowledge that develops their creativity so that they can emerge
as independent thinkers. Under the guidance of the Chairperson of
Amity Group of Schools and RBEF, Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan vari-
ous programs were initiated for building scientific temperament like
ODM, Science Fairs, Vasudha, Children`s Congress . Dr. Arabinda
Mitra, Scientist-G, Head, International Cooperation (Bilateral),DST, Govt. of India, Chief Guest, for the event ap-
preciated School principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra and the teachers of Amity 46 for making a mark In research and inno-
vation category :Cooling Panels for Sun facing walls in buildings which further got selected for INSEF Science
Fair, 2015.In creativity category: In Odyssey of Mind Amity 46 won Ranatara Fusca Award which is the highest
award in creativity and first prize in mixed team and first in long term problem. Vaishali Tikoo of Class XII won
gold medal in ISWEEP for novel instrument to detect learning disabilities in children. School had also won for an-
other project conducive cooling paints and F1 championship .
STUDENTS OF AMITY PRESS THE BUZZER OF VICTORY
The students of Amity International School, Sector 46, Gurgaon brought laurels to the School
by bagging the 2nd prize in Inter-School competition Swapnil Rang - ‘Parivartan: Evolution to
Revolution-2016’held at Lions Public School, Gurgaon. The event was focused on how stu-
dents can be the agents of ‘CHANGE’ in different fields like change to better environment,
change to one’s own culture, change from myths to facts, change to positive attitude and learn-
ing. The winning team comprised of Aradhya and Pranjali of Class V who won the award for
Best Techie Transformers. School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra lauded the performance of the
students.
BUDDING TECH WIZARDS REVEL AT INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION
Amity International School Sector 46, Gurgaon continued the winning streak
at Robotics Competition CYBERTRONIX held at Blue Bells Public School
Sector 10 Gurugram, in partnership with Avishkaar Box by winning a number
of prizes in different events .The event saw participation from 13 eminent
Schools of Gurugram. Teams were given the Problem Statement prior to
make Robots that could perform the pre-defined tasks. Yuvraj Pratap Singh
and Toyam Khanna won first prize for Fiction depiction. Aniruddh Gupta and
Aryan Kapoor bagged first prize for App-o-Mania. Pritish Sharma and Pranav
Uppal won second prize for Panache. School Principal, Mrs. Arti Chopra con-
gratulated all the winners and their teachers for the outstanding achievement.
