The Certifcation Scheme or Personnel (CSWIP) is a comprehensive scheme

which provides or the examination and certifcation o individuals seeking to

demonstrate their knowledge andor competence in their feld o operation! The

scope o CSWIP includes" all levels o Welding Inspectors" Welding Supervisors"

Plant Inspectors" Welding Instructors" #nderwater Inspectors and $%T personnel!

CSWIP is managed &' the Certifcation anagement oard" which acts as the

*overning oard or Certifcation" in keeping with the re+uirements o the

industries served &' the scheme! The Certifcation anagement oard" in turn"

appoints specialist anagement Committees to oversee specifc parts o the

scheme! ,ll CSWIP oards and Committees comprise mem&er representatives o

relevant industrial and other interests!

The current document covers the Certifcation o -isual Welding Inspectors (.evel

/) Welding Inspectors (.evel 0) and Senior Welding Inspectors (.evel 1)! There

are two categories o Senior Welding Inspector2 one with 3adiographic

Interpretation and one without!

The re+uirements governing 3egistration o -isual Welding Inspectors" Welding

Inspectors and Senior Welding Inspectors are detailed in a separate document2

CSWIP4WI4/45/! Success in the appropriate CSWIP Certifcation examination is

one o the prere+uisites o 3egistration!

3egistration is strongl' recommended as it helps to satis' the CSWIP certifcate

renewal re+uirements" see Clause 6!7!/

no other criteria will &e applied! Certifcation is not conditional on the candidate
