FAQFAQQ: What is the Centre for Public Service Innovation
CPSI • The CPSI focuses on finding new ways of
improving public services delivery through research, piloting innovating projects and or products. We promote innovative practices, reward and recognise innovators, create mechanisms for knowledge sharing and learning on innovation and encourage the implementation of international best practices on the delivery of public services.

• Identifies, supports and nurtures innovation in the delivery of public service
• Pilot projects aim at demonstrating the value of innovative solutions
• Provides an enabling environment in public sector – support and sustainability
RelationshipsRelationshipsQ: What is the relationship with the government• The CPSI improves the capacity of
government in addressing cross cutting issues and promoting innovation in the delivery of government key objectives. The CPSI promotes innovation in government by unearthing existing innovation, funding innovation, providing opportunities for piloting innovation and the implementation of innovation.
RelationshipsRelationshipsQ: What is the relationship with the private sector• The CPSI forms partnerships with the private
sector for research purposes, funding, piloting and implementation purposes. We believe that the private sector has a crucial role to play in the public sector innovation.
Q: How does the South Africa public benefit from the CPSI
• The ultimate beneficiaries of the work of the CPSI are South Africans. The more the government is innovative in public service delivery, the better and more effective the experience and interaction with government.

recognize public sector innovation• Output: Improved service delivery in the
public service through the sharing of information and implementation of daily innovation.
