  • Dear Faith Family of San Agustín, Now almost fifteen months here as pastor of this wonderful community of San Agustín, I present to you the financial report for the fiscal year ending August 2020. I am deeply grateful for your generous support and investment in our parish during this challenging year with COVID-19. The budget for this past year was pre-pared by Father John and our Finance Council and I worked prudently to ensure that all parish expenses were paid, ministries and staff supported with a large amount going to much needed deferred building and grounds maintenance. We ended our financial year with a loss of $ 6,034. It was a tremendous help that our parishion-ers were so supportive with our AMA this year. With almost $104,000 collected, $18,400 went to the diocese and the rest stayed with our parish. We were able to use that money for repairs and refurbishments and de-ferred maintenance at the parish. For the coming year, we sadly have had to reduce payroll and staff hours in addition to other cost saving measures. My sincere thanks for continued support and generosity. May God continue to bless our faith community, strengthen our relationship with God and each other. We look forward to better days ahead when we can all gather together as a community. ~ Fr. Seamus O’Brien, Pastor

  • “The Christmas Project” 2020

For many years our parish community has gen-erously supported “The Christmas Project,” a non-profit organization run by Gladys Anderson, for more than 30 years. During the Advent Sea-son, gift tags with specific gift wishes of individu-als are put on our parish “Giving Tree” and pa-rishioners choose tags, purchase the gifts which are then collected, sorted and distributed to local farm labor workers and their families. Our own parishioner and catechist, Joey Romeo, has done an amazing job of coordinating this project and making it happen at our parish year after year. Sadly, with COVID-19, we cannot collect gifts and distribute them this year; however we can STILL HELP! We ask instead of gifts, you consid-er making a monetary donation in any amount. Donations can be made via cash, checks (made to “San Agustin” with “Christmas Project” in the memo line), or on-line through our parish web-site. The total amount collected by our parish will be given to the local organizers of this year’s Christmas Project who will then purchase appro-priate gift cards for the farm laborers and their families. A letter with a return envelope was mailed to all parishioners this past week. The final date to make a donation is November 15th. We hope you will consider helping us spread Christmas Joy once again to so many farm work-ers and their families who have been greatly af-fect by COVID-19. Thank you in advance for your generous support!
