First Sunday at 8:00 am
Our fifty day journey through the season
of Easter is complete. Last week with the
celebration of Pentecost and the coming of
the Holy Spirit, our 50 day celebration came
to its conclusion. But lest you think that we
are done celebrating – think again…
This weekend, we celebrate the Feast
of the Most Holy Trinity. Next weekend, we
celebrate the Feast of the Most Holy Body
and Blood of Christ. In other words, we
Catholics like to celebrate.
And what’s not to celebrate? While
this feast day celebrating God’s fullness in
three forms may be beyond our comprehension
(it certainly is beyond mine!), it does not stop
us from fully experiencing it. As our Gospel
reading proclaims to us – “For God so loved
the world that he gave his only Son, so that
everyone who believes in him might not
perish but might have eternal life.” God is
not interested in death – ours or anyone
else’s. He is interested in life. New life. And
even before we knew we needed it, God knew.
So does our sin and weakness stop
God from loving us and drawing close? Listen
closely to the first reading. Moses climbs Sinai
as God comes down in a cloud to meet him.
God reminds Moses that He is merciful and
gracious – slow to anger (not quick, like we
so often can be!) and rich in kindness and
faithfulness. So Moses invites God to come
along in their company, but first he feels a
need to remind God who He’s dealing with –
a stiff-necked people, filled with wickedness.
Does that deter God? Not in the least. The
invitation has been given and accepted.
What can we learn from this exchange?
I would venture to say three things:
Moses and God met on the mountain.
Moses had to climb and God had to
descend. There was work to be done
on both ends. Don’t expect God to do
it all. Nor are we in this alone. This is
a meeting on common ground.
God came and stood with Moses. That’s
what the story tells us. And if God did
it for Moses, you can rest assured God
will stand with us, too. So the question
here is – when has God stood with
you? Did you recognize Him?
Moses had to invite God on the journey.
In the words of Julian of Norwich, our
God is a courteous God. He will not
insert Himself anywhere He is not invited.
And so when Moses asked God “…do
come along in our company”, of
course we know God’s answer. When
was the last time we invited him on
our journey?
And that, sisters and brothers, is my
limited understanding of the Trinity. This
Trinity consists of the God who was there at
the beginning, who meets us on the mountain
and who walks with us on the journey. And
that is worth celebrating.
Readings for the Week
Monday 2 Cor 1:1-7/Mt 5:1-12
Tuesday 2 Cor 1:18-22/ Mt 5:13-16
Wednesday 2 Cor 3:4-11/Mt 5:17-19
Thursday 2 Cor 3:15—4:1, 3-6/Mt 5:20-26
Friday 2 Cor 4:7-15/Mt 5:27-32
Saturday 2 Cor 5:14-21/Mt 5:33-37
Sunday Dt 8:2-3,14b-16a/1 Cor 10:16-17/Jn 6:51-58
Join us next week as our readings’ focus is: “Through sim-ple signs of bread and wine, the profound gift of Jesus is made present to us.” The sign of unity in our faith life is the Eucharist. The living bread we receive at Communion sustains us and reminds us that Jesus is with us always. Let our humble belief in the Eucharist set a holy example to be followed.

They encourage financial stewardship and generosity through faith-based giving. The Foundation focuses on supporting Catholic parishes, schools and ministries through endowment funding. To learn more, please contact Cindi Brawner or Josh Diedrich at 920-272-8181, or via email at [email protected].
Corpus Christi and the Perpetual Adoration Chapel
This week we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi. In the 13th century Jesus appeared to Saint Julian and showed her a moon with a dark spot on it. He explained that the moon represented the Liturgical Calendar and the dark spot represented a feast day that was missing which He wanted instituted.
Jesus said that as the church progressed in time, it would decline in faith in His Real Presence. For this reason, He said it would be necessary to have a special feast day to remind everyone of His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament. He wanted a feast day exclusively to honor His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament and that is how the feast of Corpus Christi came about.
Every visit you make to an adoration chapel honors Jesus’ Real Presence. The Perpetual Adoration Chapel in Chilton is there for your visits anytime. All are welcome. You are also welcome & encouraged to sign up for a weekly hour. If you would like to do so, please contact Kathy Schneider at 849-9266.

DIVINE SAVIOR GRADUATION
Sixth eighth graders at Divine Savior School received their diploma at graduation ceremonies on June 1. Presenting the diplomas were Principal Kerry Sievert, Board of Trustee President Tim Elhenbeck, Parish Leader Joe Zenk, and teachers Linda Jelinek, Martha Holst, and Cathy Fesing.
In addition, several awards were bestowed upon the graduates. Earning recognition with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence were Emma Thelen, Jacob Mooren, Kasey Schaefer, and Travis Kolhmann. These students scored in the top 10% nationally in math and/or reading and also maintained a minimum 3.5 grade point average for the previous five years.
Earning honors with the Presidential Award for Academic Achievement were Andrea Voland and Andrea Meyer. This award honors students who have demonstrated a positive attitude and significant achievement but narrowly missed one of the two criteria listed above.
The class demonstrated outstanding academic achievement as evidenced by all six earning the Presidential Awards.
These students were also presented with Citizenship Awards for their service to the school and community. Among the many activities they were engaged were Mass servers, church band, Christian Leadership Council (student government), Green Screen Producers, Graphics Club, Yearbook Editor, athletics, and a host of other projects.
A key component of the school mission is challenging the students to walk in the footsteps of Christ, valuing knowledge, prayer, and service to others. To recognize the importance of this goal, a special award is presented to the graduating class called the Christian Witness Award. Students and staff chose Travis Kohlmann as this year's recipient.
Best wishes to these fine young people!
