Job Overview• Give anesthesia during surgery• Monitor patients’ vital functions and

continue administering the anesthetic throughout the surgery

• Help alleviate chronic or acute pain felt by patients

• Help the surgeon and work with other hospital staff

• Monitor patients after surgery• Use complex equipment, monitors,

and drugs to limit pain

• Study many undergraduate subjects before medical school
