    FALL 2013 U C R I V E R S I D E P H I K A P P A P S I VOLUME 1I - ISSUE 1

Vivimus et Vigemus. We live and we

flourish. No words could defineCalifornia Nu more than those that

conclude our motto. Phi Kappa Psis

emergence as one of the most notable

    and respected fraternities at UC

Riverside has served as a testament to

the strength and longevity of the

brotherhood of California Nu. The Fall

Quarter commenced with a successfulFall Rush in which California Nu added

a total of eight new members who

embody the values of Phi Kappa Psi. The

Alpha Mu class crossed over into the

realm of brotherhood at the conclusion

of last Spring Quarter. Wearing their

    letters proudly they entered the

brotherhood bringing our total numberof brothers to fifty-six, the highest

number for membership at Cal Nu thus

    far.

The Alpha Nu pledge class, which upon

entering the ranks of brotherhood, will

bring our total number to sixty-two.

The Brothers had a successful social

with Alpha Chi Omega and look

forward to having several more socials

this upcoming quarter. Cal Nu Brothers

    also conducted the Oktoberfest social

event, as well as our Second Date

party, which took place upon the

infamous Queen Mary in Long Beach.

Socially the brotherhood could not ask

    for more this past quarter.

The Great Joy of Serving Others

Brothers upheld the values and motto

of our fraternity by participating in a

    significant amount of philanthropy based

    events. California Nu organized and

worked as volunteers at the 36th annual

Mission Inn Run, one of the premier

events in the Riverside area. Along with

a half dozen street clean ups of the

    neighborhood surrounding the house,

the brothers assisted in cleaning up

their section of street in Riverside.

Brothers assisted the home province of

Gabriel Villaruel in the wake of Typhoon

Haiyan in the Philippines. We were also

proud to participate in UCRs toy drive

    and IFCs canned food drive.

Overall the legacy of California Nu

continues to grow as we approach our

fifth year anniversary of our chartering.

We look forward to the presence of

brothers of our past as we honor such

a grandiose event for Cal Nu. Amici.
