The Caddie The Mother's Club Meet & Greet Playgroup that was held on Thursday, August 23rd was a hugely successful event. The moms and kids started arriving at 10 a.m. and were welcomed by Danielle McKay and her family to a fun fi lled morning of water sports, playscape and trampoline activities. It was nice to see new moms feeling welcomed by many current moms, as there were many questions about their new community, schools and local events. This type of event helps parents share information and feel connected to one another rather than on their own. There were dozens of kids jumping in unison on the trampoline and everyone had fun bouncing from one game to another. At one point there was a count of 36 guests with plenty of snacks and drinks to quench hunger and thirst. Thank you to Danielle for so graciously sharing her home, especially a fun backyard and toys. And thank you to everyone who brought snacks to share with new friends. Check out the FCHOA website for more Meet & Greet Playgroup Updates. And if you would like to host a M & G playgroup feel free to contact the co-presidents of the Mom's Club, Munira…[email protected] or Sarah [email protected].

No One Cleans Carpet Better!Traffic Lane and Pet Stain ExpertsWith our unique 5-step process, you can count on your carpet being
thoroughly deep cleaned, soil resistant, and looking like a million bucks! Here is what we do...
1. All the carpet is pre-treated. The pretreatment spray is our own special combination of all purpose carpet cleaner, degreaser, deodorizer and color brighteners. This is applied at high pressure and high temperature to help disove embedded soils.
2. All stains and spots are pre-treated. Pre-treatment helps to remove tough stains that often do not come out with regular cleaning. This may include rust, blood, urine etc.
3. Pre-Scrubbing. Pre-scrubbing does a great job of loosening the deep down soil, and restores the pile in heavy traffi c areas. This usually includes hall-ways, traffi c lanes and the area in front of the sofa.
4. Steam Cleaning. Our high-powered truckmounted steam cleaning systems operate at extremely high pressure and temperature. This type of cleaning is what carpet manufactures recommend because it does, by far, the BEST job of getting soil, and residue completely out of the carpet. This leaves the carpet soft and soil resistant, as left over resudue are the number one cause of re-soiling.
5. Grooming. Grooming helps to restore the pile and gives the carpet a brand new look.

Project 2017: Only a few people have signed up for Project 2017. Over the next decade, the HOA will spend over $6 million in maintenance and improvements. Projects that need to be addressed will have a signifi cant impact on the property value of everyone. If you don’t get involved in the planning, then you are trusting the Board and a few volunteers to make the right decisions in determining the future of Forest Creek. These projects are multi-year and take long-term planning and commitments for money and construction. If representatives from all over the neighborhood get involved, the decisions will refl ect the input of more than just a few volunteers, so get involved, volunteer for the Project 2017 working group and help build an even better future. Landscaping: The water line repairs are fi nally being accomplished and the entry should soon be back to normal. You may have noticed many dead, dying, or diseased trees in Forest Creek. We have had the situation reviewed by an arborist and will be removing the problem trees and replacing some. Light pruning has already begun and heavy pruning will be done in the winter. Fencecrete: After what seems like an eternity, we fi nally got the Fencecrete repairs started. This will be an ongoing project as damaged or disintegrating fencing is identifi ed and repaired. Dues Reminder: Remember, October 1 is the due date for your FY 2008 HOA assessment. The annual assessment for FY 2008 is
News from the Board$500, the same rate as for 2007. The standard is for a single payment of $500 on October 1. Quarterly payments can be arranged for by contacting PS Property at 251-6122 for an additional administrative fee. If you have not received a bill and statement of account for this assessment please contact PS Property ASAP. Other: Progress continues on other subjects such as the clean-up and maintenance of the drainage areas and the Forest Creek monument on Links Lane. Your continuing support to protect the Forest Creek name by talking to the County Commissioners is still needed. Be sure to log on to the HOA web site and explore the new features.

Paper or PlasticBy: Debra Nelson
Plastic Bags: require 1,000 years to decompose in a landfi ll and only 1% of plastic bags are recycled.Paper Bags: require 30 days to decompose in a landfi ll and 20% of paper bags are recycled. However, producing paper bags generate 70% more air pollution and 50 times more water pollutants than plastic bags. What’s the environmentally friendly answer? Reusable Cloth Bags. Many grocery stores sell sturdy cloth bags. Keep several in the trunk of your car for easy access. And when they ask “Paper or Plastic”, just smile and say, “Neither.”Save the Planet For less than a dollar a week, your aluminum, tin, plastic, and paper can be picked up curbside and recycled.
