But I’m feeling the heat!I went on Key Club
International’s Twitter page the other day, and saw one of their tweets which said, “RT this if you’re excited for school to start so you can get back to Key Club!” I laughed at how much it didn’t apply to me because... Well, nothing could really make me want summer to be over yet. But it also didn’t apply to me because I’ve still
been doing Key Club work! I’m excited to see new faces at meetings and help out with fundraisers this year, and I hope you are too! But I also hope that you are all using your summers to prepare for your upcoming year of Key Club. Summer is a fantastic time to visit your Kiwanis Club, hold a car wash for some quick fund money, and have officer meetings. Here’s a hint for the officers: plan now, and your
Key Club will run extra smooth this year. And for all members: get ready for a service-filled year! A little preparation always goes a long way!
DIvision 21’s long-term goals are to have all 12 clubs in their area have active status, be efficient in fundraising and awareness for Key Club International’s Major Emphasis projects as well as Pacific Northwest District’s projects, and have complete communication between all clubs regardless of distance.
However, our biggest goals are those stated by Key Club International:To provide service, build character, and develop leadership.

Konnect with your KiwanisAs you may or may not be aware, one of my goals for this year was to improve
K-family relations within our division. I realize that there are sometimes issues with communications, but I believe that it is always possible to build a healthier relationship with your Kiwanis. Here are my tips:
1. Visit a Kiwanis MeetingYou’ve seen them at your meetings, return the favor and attend one of theirs! Most of their meeting information is available online, and if they meet during
school hours, you can normally get permission to go as a school-related event.
2. Volunteer together
Nothing like bonding over stacks of canned food, right? Helping out with Kiwanis community service events is a little way to pay back for all that support they gave you in chartering your club and going to DCON every year. Service is
what our organizations are all about!
3. Present to your KiwanisKiwanians want to know what you’re up to! Have an amazing service project your
club has been working on? Raised a chunk of money for a worthy cause? Make a presentation to show at your Kiwanis meeting. They want to support Key Clubbers in whatever we are doing!

Volunteer slump? If you’re ever in desperate need for volunteer hours, or just want to serve in your community, Youth United of Snohomish Country is always an excellent place to check for service opportunities!
