The Book of Colossians“Walk Worthy Of The Lord”
by Pastor Fee SolivenColossians 1:6-10Thursday NightJune 12, 2013
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,
2 To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ who are in Colosse: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the
Lord Jesus Christ.
3 We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always
for you,
4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of your love for all the saints;
5 because of the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before
in the word of the truth of the gospel,
6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you
heard and knew the grace of God in truth;
7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful
minister of Christ on your behalf,
8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you,
and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom
and spiritual understanding;
10 that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being
fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
6 which has come to you, as it has also in all the world, and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you
heard and knew the grace of God in truth;
John 15:16-1716 You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and
bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you. 17 These things I command
you, that you love one another.
Mark 16:14-1814 Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart,
because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. 15 And
He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name
they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up
serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;
they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."
Acts 17:1-61 Now when they had passed through
Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, where there was a
synagogue of the Jews. 2 Then Paul, as his custom was, went in to them, and for
three Sabbaths reasoned with them from the Scriptures, 3 explaining and
demonstrating that the Christ had to suffer and rise again from the dead, and saying, "This Jesus whom I preach to you is the Christ.“ 4 And some of them were
persuaded; and a great multitude of the devout Greeks, and not a few of the
leading women, joined Paul and Silas. 5 But the Jews who were not persuaded,
becoming envious, took some of the evil men from the marketplace, and gathering
a mob, set all the city in an uproar and attacked the house of Jason, and sought to bring them out to the people. 6 But when
they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city,
crying out, "These who have turned the world upside down have come here too.
7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faithful
minister of Christ on your behalf,
Philemon 1: 23-2523 Epaphras, my fellow prisoner in Christ
Jesus, greets you, 24 as do Mark, Aristarchus, Demas, Luke, my fellow
laborers. 25 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
8 who also declared to us your love in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-2622 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control.
Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh
with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one
another.
Romans 5:5"Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was
given to us"
Romans 15:30"Now I beg you, brethren, through the
Lord Jesus Christ, and through the love of the Spirit, that you strive together with
me in prayers to God for me..."
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you,
and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom
and spiritual understanding;
Romans 1:8-98 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ
for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. 9 For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the
gospel of His Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers...
Philippians 1:3-63 I thank my God upon every
remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all
with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now,
6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ...
Ephesians 1:15-1815 Therefore I also, after I heard of your
faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks
for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the
knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling,
what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints...
2 Timothy 2:15"Be diligent to present yourself approved
to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of
truth"
10 that you may have a walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the
knowledge of God;
2 Corinthians 5:9-109 Therefore we make it our aim, whether
present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. 10 For we must all appear before the
judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body,
according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
Ephesians 4:1-21 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord,
beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all
lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
