The story of Hannah

Elkanah had two wives Hannah and Peninnah.Hannah didn’t have any children but

Peninnah did…and She taunted Hannah cruelly, never letting her forget

that God had not given her children..

This went on year after year. Every time she went to the sanctuary of God she could expect to be taunted.

Hannah was reduced to tears and had no appetite.

Her husband Elkanah said, “Oh, Hannah, why are you crying? Why aren’t you eating? And why are you so

upset? Am I not of more worth to you than ten sons?”

So Hannah ate. Then she pulled herself together, slipped away quietly, and entered the sanctuary.

Crushed in soul, Hannah prayed to God and cried and cried inconsolably.

Then she made a vow to God: “If you’ll quit neglecting me and go into action for me by giving me a son, I’ll give him completely to

you and set him apart for a life of holy discipline”.

When Eli the priest saw Hannah in the temple praying he jumped to the conclusion that she was drunk.

He approached her and said, “You’re drunk! How long do

you plan to keep this up? Sober up, woman!”

Hannah said, “Oh no, sir—please! I haven’t been drinking. The only thing I’ve been pouring out is my heart, pouring it

out to God. Don’t for a minute think I’m a bad woman. It’s because I’m so desperately

unhappy and in such pain that I’ve stayed here so long.”

Eli answered and said, “go in peace God has granted you your petition”.

Hannah then got up and went her way believing God was going to give her a child and she was not sad

anymore.

Hannah conceived and born a son and name him Samuel-saying because I have asked him of the Lord . When she had finished weaned him, she took him up to the house of the Lord along with an offering and brought him to Eli and give him unto the Lord as she had promised. And Samuel worship the Lord there.

Life Application:

1.Always go to God in prayer instead of worrying.

2. Pray until you get an answer 3.When you make a vow to God honored

it. 4.As God bless you, give Him an offering

In life we are faced with many situations. For Hannah it was not being able to conceived. So she run to the one person she knew could help her, JESUS. whatever situation you are currently facing , you too can go to JESUS and ask Him for help. He

is more that able, and He is waiting for you to call on him . So call today….
