Do we just blindly “believe”
or
is there some basis to believe?
Story of Mike
The Bible has the distinct ability to accurately predict future events, often in minute details.
Specific prophesies are conspicuously absent from the 26 other religious books that claim to be scripture, including: the Muslim's Koran, the Book of Mormon, the Hindu Vedas, and Buddhist writings.

Overwhelming archeological support for the historical accuracy of both the Old and New Testaments.
Numerous items discussed in the Bible such as nations, important people, customary practices, etc. have been verified by archeological evidence.
Bible critics have often been embarrassed by discoveries that corroborated accounts they had previously deemed to be myth.
2) Archeological Evidence:
The Tel Dan inscription, “House of David”
inscription on Stella from 9th Century B.C.
Bedrock of a Faith Is JoltedDNA tests contradict Mormon scripture. The church says the studies are being twisted to attack its beliefs.February 16, 2006|William Lobdell | Times Staff Writer
From the time he was a child in Peru, the Mormon Church instilled in Jose A. Loayza the conviction that he and millions of other Native Americans were descended from a lost tribe of Israel that reached the New World more than 2,000 years ago.
"We were taught all the blessings of that Hebrew lineage belonged to us and that we were special people," said Loayza.
A few years ago, Loayza said, his faith was shaken and his identity stripped away by DNA evidence showing that the ancestors of American natives came from Asia, not the Middle East.
For Mormons, the lack of discernible Hebrew blood in Native Americans is no minor collision between faith and science. It burrows into the historical foundations of the Book of Mormon, a 175-year-old transcription that the church regards as literal and without error.

3) Advanced Medical Knowledge In numerous instances the Bible contains medical information that far predates man's actual discoveries of related principles in the field of medicine.
4) Advanced Scientific Knowledge Though the Bible is not a science book, when it touches on scientific matters it is either completely accurate or non-contradictory, and often demonstrates remarkable fore-knowledge.

6) The Proof of Historians Secular history supports the Bible.
For example, The Antiquities of the Jews, by Flavius Josephus
Letters, By Pliny the Younger
Roman historian P. Cornelius Tacitus
Does all this “Prove”
that the Bible
is true or not?
I can’t convince you…This class is
going to assume it is
TRUE!
So IF the Bible is
THE source
of God’s TRUTH
for living life….
How do you think it should
affect your life???
C. S. Lewis was an Oxford educator and accomplished writer who became an atheist as a young man. Influenced by arguments made by Christian thinkers, Lewis, "...came into Christianity kicking and screaming."
The reasoning for his beliefs have been articulated in many books, the most popular of which is titled
Josh McDowell set out to disprove the Christian faith as a college student only to arrive, after many months of study, at the conclusion that Jesus Christ must have been who he claimed to be.
Lee Strobel was for many years as a hard-nosed journalist and atheist.
As Strobel set out to confirm justification for his atheism, he unexpectedly, found that the evidence he encountered led him instead to the Christian faith.
He is now a pastor, and author of several very successful books.
