First, let me give thanks to those who provided the funds to purchase the equip- ment for making live stream happen. Our staff decided to invest in quality equipment that will take care of us for now as well as down the road as technology advances. Geng the equipment lined up and learning the ins and outs has been frustrang and me consuming. However, we believe we are there. We had to purchase another piece of equipment to make this work, at an addional expense, but that is the path to establishing a new technology for us. We are sll learning the various ways to make this technology work. If there is something that does not seem to work well, let us know and we will see if we can make it beer. Our live stream worship is found on our web page under the Media tab. Live events will be at the top. At the present, we are streaming our videos at the lowest possible resoluon so people with poor internet service will not suffer with endless buffer- ing. The lower resoluon requires less data transfer which should help your recepon. We are sll working on making it go well. At the moment, streaming seems to lose the sound volume, whereas recording and then uploading does not. The two are separate ways of doing video. Streaming sends the signal from the camera to the computer through a capture card, then from the computer up to Vimeo, where we store our videos online. We link our videos to our web page by copying the URL of the video from Vimeo to WordPress (web page). We have discovered that each new live event creates a new URL. This means we will have to edit the web page each week to make a new URL for the live stream so you can see it on the web page. What this also means, though, is that we can archive the old worship videos. So, I am placing the previous services at the boom of the Media page. You will find the previous Sundays for the Tradional Service listed there. The date is clickable. Click on it and it will take you to the Vimeo site and you can watch the service from there. Also, we are no longer pung the videos on Facebook. We want people to come to our web page to view the live stream services. Please encourage people to go to our web page for the videos. Note From The Pastor Dr. Glenn E. Robertson, Sr. Pastor

The deacons decided we should open church to normal basis. We discussed the need to have time to contact all of our Sunday School teachers to be certain when they can begin teaching. We have done this. So, we are now planning to go back to our original service times and Sunday School starting June 28. There may be some people who are still uncomfortable coming up the church while COVID is still happening. We understand this. This is one of the reasons we are making live stream services a permanent part of our worship. Therefore, starting June 28, we will have our first service at 8:30; Sunday School at 9:45; and second worship service at 11:00. I do encourage everyone to keep in mind we need to practice safe hygiene because the COVID remains a serious disease. In our staff meeting, we decided to continue with our safe practices for a while longer. We will still receive offerings at the back. We will not publish a bulletin at this time. We will continue to adjust as we feel it is necessary.

Those groups who desire to schedule the church for weddings and funerals may do so, as well as other events. Youth activities will also resume as normal.

Let me say a few things about live stream. First, let me give thanks to those who provided the funds to purchase the equip-ment for making live stream happen. Our staff decided to invest in quality equipment that will take care of us for now as well as down the road as technology advances. We are still learning the various ways to make this technology work. If there is something that does not seem to work well, let us know and we will see if we can make it better.

Our live stream worship is found on our web page under the Media tab. Live events will be at the top. At the present, we are streaming our videos at the lowest possible resolution so people with poor internet service will not suffer with endless buffer-ing. The lower resolution requires less data transfer which should help your reception. We are still working on making it go well. At the moment, streaming seems to lose the sound volume, whereas recording and then uploading does not. The two are separate ways of doing video. Streaming sends the signal from the camera to the computer through a capture card, then from the computer up to Vimeo, where we store our videos online. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Pastor Glenn and our resident tech guru, Alex Proctor, have worked hard to get our church’s “live stream” to a higher level of video and audio quality. A big “Thank you” to both. I think we are already beginning to see its value with VBS. Without the ability to put the VBS rallies on the internet, we would not have been able to do much for Chil-dren’s Ministry this summer. The live stream and the take home materials (aka Tool Kits) have allowed us to encour-age the spiritual lives of around 90 children. PRAISE THE LORD!

LIVE STREAM Last week, I was asked by a store clerk how First Baptist was doing church during the coronavirus crisis. I said that we had opened back up, but we were also continuing the live stream of our church services and recorded Bible studies. She said that she had heard about live stream, but didn’t know what that was. I was glad to explain that it was simply putting the services on the internet. Then, I invited her to watch our services sometime. One of the nice things about live stream is that once the event is over, the recording of the event stays on the website. Another benefit of live streaming is that you do not have to have what I call “geographic proximity” in order to be involved with ministry. Brenda and I frequently check out our son James’ services at FBC Farmersville (in the Dallas area). And this week, our granddaughters have been able to be a part of FBC Cuero’s VBS! Go Gigi! CONGREGATIONAL SINGING This past Sunday, I could hear you singing. You cannot imagine what a blessing it was to be able to hear you over the instru-ments, the choir or praise team, and my own voice. We went two months with just streaming the services without a congrega-tion. And up until this past Sunday, there were not enough voices to hear over our worship leaders. But last Sunday, we had big enough congregations that I could hear you as well. Before coronavirus, I took it for granted that I could hear the congregation. But it wasn’t until I heard you last Sunday that I realized that I hadn’t been hearing you and what a blessing it was to know that we were all worshiping together. Thank you. A FINAL STORY Brenda and I had a vacation to Italy scheduled for later this month. Not only is that not recommended for health reasons, but it is impossible since the EU is still closed off to outside visitors. I had made several attempts, both by phone and over the internet, to try to get a refund or a credit for our air fares, but wasn’t getting anywhere. Finally, last week, I was able to get hold of a live representative to work out this problem. The representative was very polite and took a personal interest in getting our situation resolved. It didn’t take long before she had been able to refund our tickets and put a credit on our credit card. I thank her for being very professional and polite and I complimented her for being so positive in what must be a very stressful job right now. The representative responded that though the coronavirus was unlike anything she or her industry has ever experienced, we all have to do what we can to help each other get through this. I told her I understood and mentioned that I was a pastor and that we had been having to live stream our worship services since churches had been restricted. What she said next was special. Her church has also been live streaming its services and it meant a lot to her to still have that connection. She said she sang with all the hymns and that she even stood up and sat down as instructed over the internet. Our conversation showed me that the Church (with a big “C”) is all around the world, that God keeps us connected to Him and to each other, and that even something as mundane as cancelling airplane tickets can lead to a blessing.

THIS WEEK’S WORSHIP MUSIC Sunday, June 21, 2020

9:00 AM Service

ALL HAIL THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ name!

Let angels prostrate fall, Let angels prostrate fall;

Bring forth the royal diadem,

And crown Him, crown Him, Crown Him, crown Him,

And crown Him Lord of all.

Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Ye ransomed from the fall;

Hail Him who saves you by His grace,

Let ev’ry kindred, ev’ry tribe, On this terrestrial ball, On this terrestrial ball,

To Him all majesty ascribe,

O that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall, We at His feet may fall!

We’ll join the everlasting song, public domain

WORD OF GOD, ACROSS THE AGES Word of God across the ages

Comes the message to our life; Source of hope forever present In our toils and fears and strife;

Constant witness to God’s mercy, Still our grace whate’er befall,

Guide unfailing, strength eternal, Offered freely to us all.

Story of the wondrous journey From the shadows of the night;

Garnered truth of sage and prophet, Guiding forward into light;

Words and deeds of Christ our Master, Pointing to the life and way, Still appealing, still inspiring, ‘Mid the struggles of today.

In the tongues of all the peoples May the message bless and heal,

As devout and patient scholars More and more its depths reveal; Bless, O God, to wise and simple,

All the truth of ageless worth, Till all lands receive the witness

And Your knowledge fills the earth. words copyright 1981 The Hymn Society ARR. UBP. CCLI #84489

WE DECLARE YOUR MAJESTY

We declare Your majesty;

We proclaim that Your name is exalted!

For You reign magnificent, You rule victorious,

Your power is shown throughout the earth.

And we exclaim: “Our God is mighty!”

Lift up Your name, for You are holy!

Sing it again, all honor and glory!

In adoration we bow before Your throne! Copyright 1984 Maranatha Music ARR. UBP. CCLI #84489

GLORIFY THY NAME

Father, we love You,

We worship and adore You,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth.

Glorify Thy name, glorify Thy name,

Glorify Thy name in all the earth.

SPEAK TO MY HEART

Speak to my heart, Lord Jesus,

Speak that my soul may hear;

Speak to my heart, Lord Jesus,

Calm ev’ry doubt and fear.

Speak to my heart, oh, speak to my heart,

Speak to my heart, I pray;

Yielded and still, seeking Thy will,

Oh, speak to my heart today.

Speak to my heart, Lord Jesus,

Purge me from ev’ry sin;

Speak to my heart, Lord Jesus,

Help me the lost to win.

Speak to my heart, Lord Jesus,

It is no longer mine;

Speak to my heart, Lord Jesus,

I would be wholly Thine. Copyright 1955 Broadman Press ARR. CCLI #84489

THIS WEEK’S WORSHIP MUSIC Sunday, June 21, 2020

11:00 AM Service

MY SAVIOR LIVES Our God will reign forever

And all the world will know His name. Everyone together,

Sing the song of the Redeemed:

I know that my Redeemer lives, And now I stand on what He did;

My Savior, my Savior lives. Every day a brand new chance to say,

Jesus, You are the only way, My Savior, my Savior lives.

The King has come from heaven,

And darkness trembles at His name. Victory forever,

It is the song of the redeemed.

My Savior lives, my Savior lives, My Savior lives.

BEAUTIFUL ONE

Wonderful, so wonderful is Your unfailing love, Your cross has spoken mercy over me.

No eye has seen, no ear has heard, No heart could fully know

How glorious, how beautiful You are!

Beautiful One I love, Beautiful One I adore,

Beautiful One, my soul must sing.

Powerful, so powerful, Your glory fills the skies, Your mighty works displayed for all to see.

The beauty of Your majesty Awakes my heart to sing,

How marvelous, how wonderful You are!

You opened my eyes to Your wonders anew, You captured by heart with this love;

‘Cause nothing on earth is as beautiful as You.

My soul, my soul must sing, My soul, my soul must sing, My soul, my soul must sing,

Beautiful One. Copyright 2002 Thankyou Music UBP. CCLI #84489

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL NAME

You were the Word at the beginning; One with God, the Lord most high.

Your hidden glory in creation, Now revealed in You, Our Christ.

What a beautiful name it is, What a beautiful name it is,

The name of Jesus Christ, my King. What a beautiful name it is, Nothing compares to this,

What a beautiful name it is; The name of Jesus.

You didn’t want heaven without us, So Jesus, You brought heaven down.

My sin was great, Your love was greater; What could separate s now?

What a wonderful name it is, What a wonderful name it is,

The name of Jesus Christ, my King. What a wonderful name it is,

Nothing compares to this. What a wonderful name it is;

The name of Jesus. What a wonderful name it is;

The name of Jesus.

Death could not hold You; the veil tore before You; You silenced the boast of sin and grave.

The heavens are roaring the praise of Your glory, For You are raised to life again.

You have no rival! You have no equal!

Now and forever, God, You reign! Yours is the kingdom! Yours is the glory!

Yours is the name above all names!

What a powerful name it is, What a powerful name it is,

The name of Jesus Christ, my King. What a powerful name it is, Nothing can stand against! What a powerful name it is;

The name of Jesus!

What a powerful name it is; The name of Jesus!

What a powerful name it is; The name of Jesus! Jesus!

I COULD SING OF YOUR LOVE FOREVER Over the mountains and the sea Your river runs with love for me,

And I will open up my heart And let the Healer set me free.

I’m happy to be in the truth And I will daily lift my hands

For I will always sing Of when Your love came down.

I could sing of Your love forever, I could sing of Your love forever, I could sing of Your love forever, I could sing of Your love forever.

Oh, I feel like dancing; It’s foolishness, I know.

But when the world has seen the light, They dance with joy

Like we’re dancing now, yeah. Copyright 1994 Curious? Music UBP. CCLI #84489
