The Balance Sheet Meet Our Speakers Mr. Derik Thieme and Mr. Gerald Mullen “Identity Theft” Derik Thieme is a US Postal Inspector and has been assigned to the Green Bay Domicile since it was first opened in January 2007. He has 10 years experience as a federal agent working for the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. His current assignment includes conducting investigations related to mail theft, ID Theft, mail fraud, narcotics, and dangerous mailings. The Green Bay Domicile serves North East Wisconsin as well as Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Special Agent Jerry Mullen has over 25 years of public service. Prior to beginning his career with the FBI in 1996, he served seven years in the United States Marine Corps as a helicopter pilot attaining the rank of Captain. Following his discharge from the military, he began his career in law enforcement as a police officer for the Mundelein Police Department in Illinois. Special Agent Mullen has been assigned to the Green Bay Resident Agency his entire career and has experience in a wide variety of investigations including: kidnappings, bank robberies, fugitives, child pornography, interstate theft, crimes in Indian Country, domestic and international terrorism. He served ten years on the Milwaukee FBI SWAT team. Special Agent Mullen deployed to Baghdad, Iraq in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. . . The summer has flown by once again and kids are back in school. We listened to your feedback and your IMA Packerland board has worked extra hours this summer to come up with a great line-up of speakers for the upcoming year. I am so excited for the year ahead! Here are just a few of the events to look forward to:
volunteer activity – we will be bringing back the opportunity to count red kettle money collected by the Salvation Army (more details to come on this soon),
plant tour – Belmark (600 Heritage Rd, De Pere from 4-5PM) in advance of our dinner meeting
ethics x 2 – we’ll be holding two sessions, one on Sep 17, 2013 and another on Apr 22, 2014 that are 2 CPE credits and both qualify for certified members annual 2 ethics CPE requirement
joint meeting on March 18, 2014 with our neighboring chapter to the south, Winnebagoland – this will be a great opportunity for you to network
We’ll start off the year with our first 2-CPE credit professional meeting on the topic of Identity Theft. We welcome Gerald Mullen from the FBI and Derrick Thieme, a US Postal Inspector. This will be a unique opportunity to learn from an actual case from the inspector that worked the case. You are welcome to attend both the before and after dinner sessions for 2 CPE credits or attend one of the sessions and receive 1 CPE credit. Attendees will receive a CPE certificate for their records. Lastly, we have been making a lot of changes in an effort to improve our chapter. I welcome your feedback on the changes both good and bad.
