Greeting to all the patrons!

It has been very eventful year for AGS since the last edition. Many developments have taken place in the industry, as well as in our company. The year began with high expectation from the new government, most of the industrial sectors were quite satisfied with the industrial atmosphere brought in it. Though, the textile sector still awaits satisfactory reforms; the new textile policy got mixed reactions from different sectors. Moreover, the economy still needs a push to gain the momentum.

As far as AGS is considered, it has been a fairly successful year till now. We bagged the prestigious order for AREL Production Dye and Chemical Dispensing System. The competition was stiff, yet we emerged victorious.

X-Rite launched two new high-end spectrophotometers to replace its old workhorse – Color Eye 7000 and Color i7. AGS Colour News also bagged the prestigious ABCI (Association of Business Communicators of India) – Gold Award at a function held in Mumbai.

The repeat orders reflect our customers satisfaction level with our products and service. It has always been the objective of AGS to serve its customers well and AGS Service is also the cover story of this issue.

We believe that no matter how advanced the product is, only with a satisfied user, it becomes a successful one. It is for this reason that we have set up a system driven service support, with a clear intention to provide timely and quality service to our customers.

Service Support is known to be one of the most crucial function in the value chain of any business. Service engineers play a vital role in Service Support, but hardly get the recognition they deserve. However, this is not true with AGS engineers – whether he handles over 34,000 paint dispensers or more than 2500 colour measurement and management equipments. Irrespective of the location across India or the type of service call, AGS engineers are present everywhere to provide prompt, swift and professional service support, so that the customer is able use the system uninterruptedly.

These back-office activities are subtly completed in the requisite timelines. For any business to grow and achieve new milestones, customer satisfaction is important and AGS firmly believes this. AGS, till today has successfully won customer confidence only with the help of the service team. At AGS, there are independent service teams for each business unit like: Banking, Petroleum, Retail and Colour, with engineers specialising in their respective fields.

Totally, there are almost 650 engineers for banking, 250 for retail domain, 275 for petroleum domain and 375 for colour domain. There is also a team of application engineers who provide round-the-clock colour application support and software training. The

motive of these application engineers is that the end-user should be able to use the system to its best and should able to get the desired or planned result.

Service Engineers who work with AGS, are divided into 3 teams to handle the following products: • Dispensers • X-Rite colour systems, Copower,

Hang Jie, Digital Information and other principals

• CST engravers

The Helpdesk is the heart and soul of AGS service and support activities. It operates 24x7, 365 days a year. The Service call handling procedure is well defined and well laid out. The following explains the procedure:

Service call handling processService calls make up to about 70% of the total calls attended by our engineers. These calls are handled very efficiently by AGS Colour service team that consists of the below mentioned steps.

Call Login and DispatchThe process starts with the call login by the customer or the representative from the company. AGS executive then records all the necessary details pertaining to the complaint in an automatic call management software. A unique ticket ID is then provided to the customer. Depending upon the call and customer category, the ID is then attached to a specific SLA and TAT norms. This ID is used for all future communications with respect to the particular complaint. The customer can get an update anytime regarding the service call logged by him via this unique ID. The call is then forwarded to the Field Engineer in the region.

Call Attendance (Man On Field)After the service call is logged, it is the responsibility of service engineer to attend the call. He then calls the customer to understand the actual problem. To avoid the system downtime, the engineer also tries to solve the problem through the call itself. In case, the problem is not solved by online support, the engineer prepares

a schedule to visit the site and attends in person.

Post the visit, the current status of the complaint is updated. Other verticals are also involved in the call, in case if additional resources are required (TRC for spare parts etc). The process continues till all the required spare parts are arranged. The engineer then visits the site again and does the necessary repairs to close the complaint. The above process is repeated in case of

additional requirement or until the system is made live and working.

Call Closure• Once the complaint is resolved

completely, the engineer fills necessary reports and informs the same to the AGS Helpdesk and his Reporting Manager.

• AGS Helpdesk in turn, updates this to the concerned customer representative over phone and / or email.

• This completes the lifecycle of an issued Ticket ID.

The analysis of the call is done at regular intervals. This analysis provides wealth of information, which in turn helps in taking corrective action to improve the service levels. This information is shared with the customers on request. The escalation matrix is also well defined. The calls unresolved beyond 72 hours are reported to senior management.

PM Call Handling ProcessPreventive Maintenance (PM) calls are handled the same way as the service calls, except that they are logged in bulk and are attended in a periodic manner. This period may be defined as Monthly, Quarterly and Half-Yearly or Yearly, depending on the customer type and contract terms. G-Data Call Handling ProcessG-Data is a process where the dispensing software database is upgraded with the new version on the customer’s computer. This upgrade usually contains revised prices, added formulations, products and value

additions. These calls are handled using below steps:

• Whenever an upgrade is made for a particular customer, it reaches to our engineers through internet

• Engineers then assign their schedule to install this upgrade at all customer counters (as per the list provided to them) in their region

• After installing an update, engineer logs this call to the AGS Helpdesk and updates the status

• If the G-Data is completed successfully, Helpdesk marks this call as Closed. In case if it is not, then necessary steps are

followed to resolve the issue involving the concerned customer representative into the discussion

• Consolidated report of all G-Data upgrades is provided to the customer on weekly basis.

FFM Service FeaturesWith more than 271 engineers, AGS serves their customers at more than 120 locations. These locations are divided and managed between 4 regional managers, who in turn have 16 area managers under them. The team also comprises of 16 specialists spread across 15 spare hubs in India.

TRC Team The engineers are trained at the Daman factory. Assembling machines is one of the exercises that an engineer undergoes while training, this gives them a thorough understanding and they gain confidence in handling any problem related to the dispenser.

Helpdesk is presently located in Navi Mumbai which houses 100 executives in every shift.

X-Rite launched two new spectrophotometers that are now a part of AGS portfolio

X-Rite launched two new benchtop spectrophotometers – C i7800 and C i7600 that will replace the old workhorse, ColorEye 7000A / Color i7 and Color i5 respectively. The latest edition of spectrophotometers are robust and are based on solid optical bench. The technical specification match exactly with the old ones, rather the new spectrophotometers have additional features.The X-Rite Ci7800 and Ci7600 benchtop spectrophotometers are compliant with the following standards:• CIE No. 15• ASTM D1003

• C i7800 is approved by all those who had accepted CE 7000A/Ci7.

• X-Rite provides special sample holders with the new instruments that enables consistent and repeatable measurement of not-so-standard samples.

• There is a traceability of measurement data and standard integrity, this provides audit trail.

• The enhanced video preview enables correct mounting of sample. The user can save the image to confirm the presentation as part of audit trail.

• The embedded NetProfiler further ensures accuracy and consistency of spectral measurement which is the basic information for all QC and colour matching applications.

These features make both, C i7800 and C i7600 best in their class for spectral measurement. Some of our clients such as HUL, Birla Century and Reliance Industries to name a few, have already accepted the new spectrophotometers and AGS have started installing both the spectrophotometers in India.

We had an interaction with Mr. Khimji Patel of Vicky Stationers and Copiers, Pune to understand his experience about ColorGATE Software. Following are the excerpts from the conversation:

What is the difference in printing that you have observed after installing ColorGATE software?Basically by using the software, my printer got calibrated for better results or output. When I started using it, the output quality improved. I was amazed see that the colours on print were bright and sharp.

What about the prints where a lot of graphics needed to be processed?As I said, the print quality improved a lot. The images were clearer and the sharpness in the image was maintained.

What is your take on the ColorGATE software?It is one of the most economical and efficient set of calibration software available today. I am using the software and have experienced the difference in quality, as well as on cost.

How has it been working with AGS?Their products that we use have improved our output quality and helped us save on costs. The combination of good product and even better service keeps a customer happy and this is our exact experience from AGS.

AGS bags the first order for Arel Production SystemAGS bagged one of the biggest order for the production of dispensing system for Welspun Syntex, Mumbai. The system will comprise of dye Central system, Chemical dispenser, Dissolver system and a complete suite of software for central monitoring.This order is a symbol of prestige, as it is the first order post its partnership with AGS.

AGS bags order for X-Rite EasyTrax from Pragati Offset Hyderabad Hyderabad-based Pragati Offset, one of the most recognised and well-respected print house ordered X-Rite EasyTrax systems for maintaining production colour control and consistency.

AGS bags order for X-Rite New Spectrophotometers from HULHindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) placed an order for X-Rite new spectrophotometers – C i7600, after its order last year for Color i5 spectrophotometers. This order will provide colour (read whiteness) consistency throughout the supply chain for HUL.

BMPA opts for X-Rite eXact spectrodensitometer for its membersBombay Master Printers Association (BMPA) has tied up with AGS for X-Rite eXact spectrodensitometer for its members. It was a very prestigious arrangement wherein BMPA asked its members to procure X-Rite eXact from AGS. It will not only bring in awareness for colour measurement, but also maintain the high colour quality and consistency in production.

Birla Century and Reliance Industries ordered X-Rite ci7800Both the companies installed X-Rite top model Ci7800 companies based systems. These are the first installations of recently launched Ci7800 spectrophotometers in India.

AGS bags an order from Zeus International Pvt LtdAGS received the order of Nova Rotary Screen Stripping machine, X-Rite C7600 based system and AGS Flatbed Inkjet Engraver.

European Coating Show, Nuremberg, Germany and Agent’s Day, April 2015European Coating Show is held biennially and is always held in Nuremberg, Germany. Fast and Fluid Management under Idex Inc. participated with a very large stand. All the present and the future offerings were displayed at the stand. Agent’s Day was observed on the penultimate day of ECS. AGS being one of the major partners of Idex/FFM participated in both the events.
