THE AWANA CRYER EDITORS: GARY CHAPPLE The new Board met on Monday, 18th of November. Sharon Epp remains Board Secretary, Bill Collie is building mainte- nance, Lyle Thunstrom is grounds and Dave Pedersen covers Block watch, resi- dent care and has been appointed as vice-chairman. Shirley Garner was elected Treasurer and — Gary Chappie was elected President. This was done at the Annual General Meeting. The Board will; meet on the second Mon- day of every month at 1:00 pm in the Rec. Room. If you have some- thing you want them to consider let a board L member know in writing a week before the meeting. Winter is upon us so if your outside taps have not been turned of, now would be a good time to do so. Also it is a good idea to drain the water out of your hoses. When water freezes it ex- pands and can crack the hose. We have experienced a couple leaks in our plumbing. This will no doubt happen more often as our buildings age. There- fore it is important that if you are away, ISSUE NOVEMBER 2013 you have someone check your suite on a regular almost daily basis. This should be someone who is a member as we are not to give keys to non members. If the person is a family member not from AWANA, then it is important that you let your quad and board members know who will be coming and go- ing. This isw more than just a courtesy. Fire alarm testing will take place Monday the 25th of November. They will test all the smoke detec- tors as well ads the alarms. There- fore they will need to enter your suite for a few minutes. A board member will accompany them into suites where the member is away. This will happen for most of the day. Your co-operation will be greatly appreciated. Cheque day is 5th of November from 10: to 11:00 AM. If you cannot be there that day you can get your cheques to Shirley before then by delivering them to her suite. Please do not just leave them in her mailbox as Shirley cannot be responsible for them should they go missing. Christmas lights can be put up anytime but are not to go on until December first. They can stay up and on until January 13. Thanks for sticking to these times.
