Plot:Beginning

The story begins with the teacher writing on a sheet of paper and it is written there “The Awakening”. The next scene, the teacher is being interviewed for application and he got hired. The day before the first day of school, he prepared his lesson as well as the classroom where he will be teaching. His first day of teaching didn’t go well. He found out that his students were very unruly. They are not well-mannered. They don’t even listen or participate but still, the teacher continues the discussion. The some student just keep on chatting with each other, some are busy with their gadgets and the others are asleep the whole period. This is their daily set up.

MiddleUntil one day, the teacher goes out of the school. He looks weary and almost

giving up. As he was wandering around, a woman together with a little girl caught his attention. The woman handed the little girl with a doll but the little girl would toss it to the ground. The woman picks the doll and hand it over again to the little girl but she toss it over and over again. The woman didn’t give up until the little girl accepted and played the doll. Smile was drawn into the woman’s face. The teacher saw it as a sign, a sign of not giving up. He knew it was his mission to change these students.

EndFrom that day, he had accepted the challenge of transforming these

hardheaded students into responsible ones. He prepared his lessons better. He does not let the noise of the pupils distract his discussion until one day, one of the students got tired of keeping himself busy with his phone. He kept it in his bag and tried to listen to the discussion. He is the only one left after the bell has rang and is jotting down notes. Later on, he convinced his seatmate to join the discussion and his seatmate convinced the other and so on until more and more students got interested with the subject. It was a huge success for the teacher. He knew he did the right thing. What proved his success is not the respect he gained from the students but the change or transformation he brought into the students’ lives.

Reaction:As a future mentor, the movie had affected my prospect of teaching. Before,

my goal is to gain respect from the students whom I will be handling but after I watched the film, I realized what important is how you bring changes into their lives. Did they learn something new after each day they go to school or does it affect their lives or how did I helped them as a teacher and a second mother? Those are the questions that come into my mind after I watched this film. I might say this film could influence a lot of teachers losing hope of changing the lives of unruly students. The message of the movie for the viewers is to NEVER GIVE UP, DON’T LOSE HOPE.
