Program OverviewThis conference is open to all physician specialties, nurses,
allied health, students, and other clinicians involved in the care
of the trauma patient. National and local experts will present
timely information and solutions to challenges involving air
and ground medical transport, motor vehicle collisions, hypo-
resus, the emergent bariatric patient, sedation and delirium in
the ICU, and other hot topics in trauma.
ObjectivesUpon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
• Identify the current controversies in advanced airway management
• Describe the benefits and detriments of continuous capnography
• Recognize the specific benefits and deficits of the utilization of Ketamine and Etomidate
• Recognize the benefits and risks involved with limb-salvage and amputation
• Recognize the benefits and risks involved with sedation therapy in critically injured patients
• Define the necessity of achieving a fully functional trauma program
• Recognize the barriers to adoption of high quality care
• Recognize the various ways the body can be injured in a motor vehicle collision
• Describe the potential pitfalls of providing excessive fluid administration to patients with uncontrolled hemorrhage
• Recognize the barriers facing bariatric trauma patients when seeking care
• Recognize the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing air and ground transportation for trauma patients
