Fine silver, china and glassware as well as atmos-
pheric restaurants can be found in all corners of the
globe. But here in Baden-Baden, even widely tra-
veled visitors describe the offerings of the town’s
kitchens and cellars as being ‘out of this world’.
Nowhere else is there a greater congregation of star-
rated restaurants than in and around Baden-Baden.
In the pots and pans of the region, recipes from
Baden, neighboring Alsace and those from further
a field are harmonized to perfection.
Any town that is favored by Mother Nature as much
as Baden-Baden is (here, spring begins earlier than
anywhere else in Germany), can surely boast with
confidence that its wine is “blessed by the sun”.
On the soft slopes between the Rhine plains and
the Black Forest, the vines flourish in the long
sunlight hours and mild climate. The winegrowers
of the Baden-Baden Rebland, who skillfully press
the fruit to release the precious extract, have
become accustomed to receiving
awards on a continual
basis. The sunny
slopes of the Reb-
land have turned
their Riesling
into wine of
reputation.

A Long Tradition of Hospitality The Magical Rebland Vineyard Region - A Paradise for Bons Vivants
Baden-Baden has a long history of treating its
guests like royalty. The art of being pampered here
dates back to Roman times. Even Europe’s first
luxury hotel was established on the banks of the
River Oos. In the meantime, there are hotels that
cater for everyone’s tastes. Regardless of whether
your accommodation is of the luxury, comfort or
standard category, here, there are countless oppor-
tunities to relax and live life to the full.
More than 600,000 casino visitors a year is testa-
ment to that: gambling has a certain fascination.
The croupiers’ call of ‘No more bets’ when throw-
ing the ball into the roulette wheel was jotted
down by the unfortunate Russian writer, Dosto-
jevsky, but in a slightly altered format: ‘Nothing
more to bet!’
From late morning until deep into the night, the
Kurhaus is the temple of the muses and the amuse-
ments. Regardless of whether it’s a concert, an
exhibition, a recital, a tea dance, a ball or a game
of roulette - this building is a rendezvous for the
world.
In Baden-Baden, everything is within easy reach
with no one dictating the time. Days unfold here
like a rosebud; effortlessly and becoming more
enjoyable as the day goes on.
Since the opening of the Festspielhaus in 1998
with its all-year-round top class productions and
the internationally acclaimed Frieder Burda
Museum, Baden-Baden now offers lovers of art
and culture, from all over the world, artistic
events of the very highest standard.
Where once Kaisers and Kings readily spent the
summer months, the art of presenting shop win-
dow displays of distinction has a long tradition in
Baden-Baden. Having an eye for that ‘something
special’ is still very much present today. The
pedestrian zone in the town is, as it always has
been, a rendezvous of famous names and top
brands. Regardless of whether you are looking at
fashion, jewelry, antiques or delicacies to treat
the palate..., in Baden-Baden you will be spoilt
for choice.

Strolling, Gazing, Shopping and Regaling
The border between ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ in
Baden-Baden is an invisible one. The world
famous Lichtentaler Allee is a large living room,
‘a green salon’, and the many terraces turn the
spring and summer evenings in Baden-Baden into
a festival. Over 100 years ago, famous artists such
as Johannes Brahms, Franz Liszt and Clara Schumann
influenced the success of such festivals. Today,
their artistic legacy lives on inherited by renowned
soloists and orchestras in the Festspielhaus,
Europe’s second largest opera and concert hall.
The natural gift of the thermal water, in which
even the Romans bathed to restore lost energy,
is still utilized to the full. Health and enjoyment
play an important role in Baden-Baden. A combi-
nation of massage, thermal baths and steam
baths is balsam to the soul.
Today, the warm spa water, with its rich mineral
content, is used for both customary as well as
modern therapies. Baden-Baden’s health centers
have developed numerous specialized programs
for personal recuperation. Relaxation techniques
such as autogenous training and yoga, exercising
therapies, balneo techniques as well as numerous
Far Eastern healing methods all work wonders for
mind body and soul.
Baden-Baden has both large
and small scale entertainment
on offer. Three very special
annual highlights taking place
in the spring, summer and
fall are the International Horse
Races. Horse racing in Baden-
Baden – that’s the epitome
of racing and glamour,
thoroughbreds and high
society elegance, fun and
suspense, and lively festivals
and champagne parties all in one. Here, the world’s
most expensive thoroughbreds, saddled by the
international jockey elite, battle it out for prizes
and status.
A natural treat for mind, body and soul is what
awaits visitors on over 400 kilometers of well
maintained hiking trails, covering a vast area of
natural beauty at an altitude of between 160 and
1002 meters. Germany’s most densely wooded
commune offers 24 circular and one-way hiking
trails with a total length of 180 kilometers.
40 kilometers of which are made up by the ‘Pano-
ramaweg’ trail; honored with being Germany’s
prettiest hiking route. Enjoy spectacular views
from the numerous pathways and discover what
makes Baden-Baden a walkers’ paradise.
