Here are a few highlights from the ASPE PIPE-LINE:

♦ Discover the latest technologies at the 2016 ASPE Exposition

To help you better navigate the 2016 ASPE Exposition show floor and find specific prod-ucts related to your designs, ASPE is offer-ing guided tours on Monday, October 31 and Tuesday November 1st. Participation is just $10 per tour and offers plenty of time for you to also explore the floor at your leisure. To get even more in depth information on the latest products, you can visit the New Prod-uct Innovation Theater and the New Product Innovation Showcase in addition to talking one-on-one with the technical staff of the ex-hibiting manufacturers. Go to aspe.org/expo to register now.

♦ Hotel rooms are going fast

If you are attending the 2016 ASPE Conven-tion & Exposition in Phoenix on October 28th through November 2nd, we strongly recommend that you reserve your room now. To obtain the special ASPE rate, you must make your room reservation via aspe.org/expo.

♦ New CDC toolkit references ASHRAE Le-gioinella Standard

The toolkit, “Developing a Water Manage-ment Program to Reduce Legionella Growth and Spread in Buildings,” provides a check-list for building operators to help identify if ia water management program is needed and ways to reduce the risk of contamination.

♦ Need some quick CEU’s?

The June Read, Learn, Earn has been post-ed at aspe.org/readlearnearn. This program, which is free for ASPE members, offers a

convenient way to earn up to 12 hours of Continuing Education credit per year.

♦ WaterSense celebrates 10 years of saving water

Since the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program was launched in June 2006, WaterSense-labeled products have helped Americans save a cu-mulative 1.5 trillion gallons of water.

This year’s 2016 ASPE Golf Outing is in the books and it was a good time. As usual we were blessed with great weather, the Golf Club of Dublin was in terrific condition and we had an-other outstanding turn out.

The winning team shot a 56 to take first prize. Congratulations to the team from Carr Supply. The team also holed the only “skin” of the day for a $300 pay day. But they weren’t the only winner. Our big prize winners this year were Ryan Valenta—50” flat screen, Alex Hume—Go Pro Hero 4, Doug Gamble—Nikon Range Find-er, and Chip Jones and Todd Dotter each won a $500 pro shop gift card. Our long drive and long putt winner was Michael Bernard. Closest to the Pin went to Rob Bishop.

This years outing turned out to be pretty special. Our Columbus ASPE Administrative Secretary , Brad Fitzsimmons, son Barrett has stage 4 can-cer. “Barrett Strong” was kind of our underlying theme throughout the day. Tee shirts were sold during registration to bring awareness and after-wards our membership stepped up BIG TIME to help support Barrett and his family. From the winning team raffling off their prize for $150 and donating it, to our “skins” winner donating their $300 winnings, to the passing of the hat (bucket). Our outing membership gave an esti-mated $1,200 to help Barrett. THANK YOU!!!!

As you know the outing is our major fundraiser and once again our sponsors reign supreme. We couldn’t possibly do it without the support of our affiliate membership and their manufactur-ers. The Central Ohio Chapter would like to thank our:

• “Super Sponsors” (which by the way is our newest sponsorship opportunity.): BWA South, Rep Source with Bradley, Worly Plumbing Supply and R.L.Deppmann Com-pany.

Golf Committee Chairman—Chad Dupler

• “Lunch” sponsors: Disney McClane and Trombold Equipment.

• “On Course Beverages” were brought to you by Omar McDowell.

• “Dinner” that was sponsored by Industrial Sales and Car Supply.

• “Exclusive Hole” sponsors: FF Leonard, Lowder Sales, Kevin McGovern and Associ-ates, Kohler Company, Moen Company and Victaulic Company.

• The “Driving Range” was sponsored by HA-WA Inc., Libb Company with Delta Faucets, Steffens-Shultz with Bock Water Heaters, and Campbell Equipmet with Grundfos Pumps.

• Our “Proximity’s” were sponsored by Stef-fens-Shultz, IPEX America and Nibco.

• We also had “Tee/Green” sponsors too nu-merous to mention but THANK YOU. Speci-fiers—keep these people on your short list!

Thanks to all those companies who sponsored a foursome. Please tell your friends and come back next year.

Some other folks and their companies need rec-ognized for volunteering their time in support of ASPE:

• A special thanks goes to Mark Martin and Kent Swepston with FF Leonard for manning our “Scholarship Fund Raising “ hole. This year Kent gave away a cool drone quadcop-ter on this hole for “closest to the pin” which was won by Adam Grubb. Enjoy Adam. Those guys do a terrific job and this year helped us raise $460 for our scholarship fund. Nice job boys.

• Hats off goes to John McCann with TP Me-chanical and Tim Thomas with Campbell Equipment. They manned the 6th hole sell-ing 50/50 tickets and cigars. I think they had more fun than we did.

• Another couple of volunteers that have be-come a staple at our outing is Ashley Owens

your attendance to the show cost effectively. There is also a new video on YouTube fea-turing Executive Director/CEO Billy Smith, FASPE. Start now on arranging your sched-ule to be able to attend.

Upcoming Chapter Events:

♦ There will be a sporting clays shoot at Black-wing in October. The outing is an all day event that will include lunch, shooting on the course in the afternoon, and some side games. As more information becomes avail-able we will pass it along (ie, cost, date, time, sponsor information and cost, etcK).

with Eastway Supplies and Jeff Lowder with Lowder Sales. They were on hole #11, “The Skirt Hole”. Jeff and Ashley were taking pic-tures of all the teams so be on the lookout.

• On hole #17 our ever popular raffle ticket winning par 3 hole this year was supported by Suzanne Compton with W.M. Wilson and Chryss Rebich. Did they have a blast or what? All I can say is I am glad we gave them two rolls of tickets. Great job ladies.

• Finally, thanks to Nate Dray with Preferred Sales for hustling the course with whatever needed to be done.

For anyone who has ever played, been associ-ated with or sponsored our little golf outing you know how smoothly it seems to run. This enjoy-able day that is the Central Ohio Golf Outing is made solely possible by our golf committee. Like a fine Swiss Time Piece the golf committee makes it happen. It is my sincere honor to serve with these guys to help make this outing the success that it is and dare I say, one of the best outings going (Your words—not mine!). Thank you Don Konkle with HAWA, Eric Leman with Heapy Engineering, Mark Simpson our illustri-ous President with KLH Engineers, Dave Mad-sen with Whitfill-McCarthy, Tim Gleich with BWA South and Hanse Cromer with Steffens-Shultz. Great Job as always!

Thanks again to everyone who helped make this year’s golf outing a success. We’re just peo-ple helping people.
