FLEET – ONE STOP SHOP

Isuzu Fleet Services have a one-stop-shop approach which means that they can source and fit conversion upgrades on behalf of their customers to ensure the D-Max is equipped with specification that meets individual working environments.

There is a dedicated Isuzu Fleet Team who project manage customer orders from start to finish. The service includes technical consultation which can cover homologation, sourcing suppliers and technical development. New parts go through a rigorous sign off process with the Business Development Team and are fitted at Isuzu’s specialist Fleet Conversion Centre based in Kent. A nationwide delivery logistics team can arrange all delivery requirements, whether that’s direct delivery by transporter or a plated key for key delivery service. Plus, everything is covered under Isuzu UK’s public liability and service guarantees.

ISUZU UK HISTORY

1916: Isuzu was founded in 1916 in Japan.

1987: Isuzu was brought to the UK in 1987 when the legendary Isuzu Trooper model was first imported.

1988: The Isuzu TF, Isuzu’s first pick-up in the UK was introduced in 1988.

2002: This was followed by the Isuzu Rodeo, one of the best-selling pick-ups, in 2002.

2004: This was followed by the Isuzu Rodeo, one of the best-selling pick-ups, in 2004.

2012: The D-Max launched in 2012. Quickly acknowledged as a hardworking, tough and reliable pick-up truck, it became a favourite with farmers and trades.

2017: D-Max lead the way with refreshed engine technology, downsizing to a cleaner and more efficient 1.9l diesel engine, meeting the latest Euro 6 emission standards without the need for AdBlue.

2021: All-New Isuzu D-Max raises the bar in terms of comfort, refinement and safety while maintaining its 3.5 tonnes towing capacity and over 1 tonne payload. Isuzu’s network coverage increases to over 110 dealers across the UK.

2025: Isuzu UK has an ambitious sales objective of 10,000 D-Max registrations in 2025.

Since D-Max launched in 2012, Isuzu consistently grew their sales volume with a peak of over 6,000 units in 2015. Sales volumes stabilised at around 5,000 registrations a year as the outgoing variant came to the end of its lifecycle and remained strong during 2020 despite the pandemic.

Pre-sales of the All-New D-Max have been so positive that demand is currently outstripping supply so Isuzu fully expect to meet their target of 5,000 registrations in 2021 and are incredibly optimistic that an objective of 10,000 registrations will be achieved before the original target date that was set for 2025.

Fleet sales have increased by 50% in the last five years and this change can be seen in both cab type and range sales mix:

The outgoing D-Max has seen a variety of special editions and new models that appeal to a more lifestyle customer with extreme off-road variants like the XTR and Arctic Trucks AT35. BUSINESS RANGE

The Business range features the Utility trim and this base specification workhorse is offered in a choice of 4x2 or 4x4 and in three different cab types: single, extended and double cab.

Developed with work in mind, the Utility features a wide range of practical and safety features to ensure drivers are as productive, safe and comfortable as possible.

The All-New Isuzu D-Max has an incredible amount of additional equipment on all variants so the Utility model is anything but basic. Comfort and convenience are assured in this versatile pick-up thanks to automatic headlights with high beam assist, automatic windscreen wipers, speed-sensitive power steering, DAB radio and a stop & start system.

Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) are now standard on all models. Autonomous Emergency Braking, Traffic Sign Recognition, Intelligent Speed Limiter and Lane Departure Warning & Prevention are fitted on every model and, for the first time in the pick-up segment, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitor and Emergency Lane Keeping are fitted on all double cabs.

Utility models are ideally suited to working environments with features like an easily-cleanable vinyl flooring and durable steel wheels, while the bumpers, door mirrors and door handles are made from a hard-wearing black plastic.

ALL-PURPOSE RANGE

The All-Purpose range consists of the DL20 and DL40, with ‘DL’ signifying that the rear diff-lock becomes a standard feature and the ‘20’ and ‘40’ demonstrating the model hierarchy.

All-Purpose models are also available with an automatic transmission, which come with the additional ADAS functionality of Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist.

The DL20 features heated front seats, rear parking sensors, front fog lights and a front centre armrest for increased comfort and practicality, while body-coloured front and rear bumpers, silver door handles, a medium grey radiator grille and 18" alloy wheels provide a more premium appearance.

DL40 adds a variety of sophisticated enhancements like distinctive Bi-LED headlights, LED front fog lights, daytime running lights and rear lights, a chrome radiator grille, silver side steps and two-tone 18" alloy wheels. DL40 models also include front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.

Keyless entry, introduced from DL40, works on both the driver and passenger side and is accompanied by a push-button start system and welcome light. The interior benefits from leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel and an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat. The 7" multifunction colour touchscreen is compatible with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ and there’s also a dual-zone climate control system, which allows the driver and passenger to set different temperatures.

ADVENTURE RANGE

Topping off the new model line-up is V-Cross which sits within the Adventure range.

It features distinguishing ‘Gun Metal’ exterior styling on the radiator grille, side steps, door mirrors, door handles and 18" alloy wheels. The premium interior is practical and fuss-free: entertainment is provided by a 9" multifunction colour touchscreen with a CD player and eight speakers, there is an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and automatic headlight levelling, and the smart leather interior is complemented with V-Cross branded carpet mats.

The All-New Isuzu D-Max offers the same workhorse practicalities that Isuzu customers have become accustomed to, with a one-tonne payload and up to 3.5 tonnes towing capacity. It’s also backed by Isuzu’s 125,000 mile / 5 Year warranty.

SMARTER: LOOKS AS GOOD AS IT GRAFTS

EXTERIORThe All-New Isuzu D-Max benefits from a dynamic new exterior design giving it a powerful stance on the road. A more horizontal bonnet and vertical front face generate an angular appearance to enhance its dramatic new look. There is a new front bumper with contoured fog light positioning and, to complete the commanding new exterior, an assertive radiator grille and sleek headlight design provide striking road presence.

Each of the 4 trim levels are easily identifiable from the exterior styling as each has specific colour coding:

LIGHTS

Newly designed headlights offer improved visibility. Utility and DL20 feature new style halogen headlights while DL40 & V-Cross benefit from Bi-LED headlights, with integrated LED daytime running lights, and LED front fog lights.

WIPERS

A Rain and Light Sensor (RLS) is located at the top of the windscreen and is able to detect light levels and moisture on the windscreen. This is used by the following features which are standard on all variants:

Automatic Headlights turn the headlights on or off automatically according to light levels.

High Beam Assist detects the lights of oncoming vehicles and automatically dips the high beam. It switches back to high beam when the vehicles have passed.

Automatic Windscreen Wipers are activated when rain is detected on the windscreen.

SIDE STEPS

A newly designed side step protects the body from stone chips and features a non-slip surface for safe access to the vehicle. DL40 is equipped with silver side steps and they are gun metal on V-Cross.

WHEELS

Utility models are fitted with heavy-duty steel wheels (16" on the single cab, and 18" on the extended and double cabs). A new style 18" alloy wheel is introduced from DL20 which is offered in silver, two-tone or gun metal according to trim.

REAR

The new rear bumper has an integrated rear step which makes it easier to access the load area. There is a prominent Isuzu tailgate decal on all trim levels and a tailgate damper is now standard from Utility Double Cab.

PARKING AIDS

Rear parking sensors are standard from DL20. DL40 and V-Cross both have front and rear sensors, plus a reversing camera mounted in the tailgate handle. This elevated position affords excellent visibility as it provides a large field of vision.

INTERIORThe All-New D-Max interior has been transformed thanks to a horizontal and layered design which gives a more spacious feel. Soft-touch panelling and elegant detailing contribute to a more premium interior which remains fuss-free and practical to operate.

SEATS & TRIM

Utility is trimmed in a hard-wearing ‘tricot’ material and has integrated front headrests.

DL20 seats are covered in a more premium woven fabric. Adjustable front headrests and heated front seats are standard.

DL40 and V-Cross have leather upholstery*.

A revised front seat design improves comfort and reduces driver fatigue:

1. The central panel in the backrests disperses body pressure evenly and provides a comfortable fit for the occupant.

2. The side bolster sections of the seat are more prominent and firmer which offers greater grip when cornering.

3. The revised seat cushion is made from an Anti-Vibration Elastic Comfort (AVEC) foam which minimises vibrations from the road.

REAR PASSENGER COMFORT

The wheelbase of the All-New D-Max is 30mm longer which has allowed for a larger and more spacious cabin. Rear seat occupants are afforded greater comfort thanks to 20mm more shoulder room, higher hip points and more reclined seat backs (now 24°). The B-Pillar is positioned 25mm further forward which means the rear door aperture has increased, allowing for easier access.

Up to 10 cup holders located around the truck: 6 in the front and 4 in the rear.

There is a small compartment positioned just above the fuel release.

LUMBAR SUPPORT

There is a 6-way manually adjustable driver’s seat on Utility and DL20 models, while the DL40 and V-Cross models feature an 8-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat.

Lumbar Support is standard across the range; it is manually adjustable on single and extended cabs and power adjustable on double cabs.

STEERING WHEEL

The steering wheel is height and reach adjustable to better accommodate the driver. The steering mounted controls on the left side control the audio, while on the right side they set cruise control and adjust the Multi-Information Display screen.

A Speed-Sensitive Electronic Power Steering system is standard on all models. This has the following advantages:

Steering is lighter at lower speeds, making it easier to manoeuvre in tight spaces.

Steering is heavier at higher speeds increasing stability and controllability (e.g. for motorway driving).

The transition between light and heavy steering is gradual and smooth.

Feel a reduced impact through the steering wheel from bumps and potholes.

Provides a turning circle of 12.5 metres (kerb-to-kerb).

AUDIO SYSTEMS

There are three types of audio system on the All-New Isuzu D-Max.

MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY

The instrument panel now features a 4.2" Multi Information Display on all models. The colour electroluminescent screens include trip computer, system health checks, infotainment, parking sensors and standard instrument panel features such as fuel level, speed, engine temperature, etc.

In addition, it clearly displays the new Advanced Driver Assist Systems functions.

There is a gear shift indicator on manual transmissions to help optimise fuel economy and an outside temperature gauge with ice warning.

AIR CONDITIONING

Dual Zone Climate Control allows the driver and passenger to set different temperatures and is standard from DL40. A Rear Ventilation Panel has also been introduced on DL40 and V-Cross, increasing comfort for rear seat occupants.

STRONGER: LOVES WORK LOADS

CHASSIS

Strength and rigidity on the durable ladder chassis has increased thanks to the addition of an extra cross member and larger chassis rails which are up to 34% wider and 14% higher in sections. These upgrades have also improved safety even further on side impacts.

4WD SHIFT-ON-THE-FLY

D-Max is well known for its working credentials and off-road capability. The four-wheel drive Shift on the Fly still has three configuration settings but a new actuator now provides much faster transfer between the different drives.

REAR DIFFERENTIAL LOCK

A Rear Differential Lock is standard on the DL20, DL40 and V-Cross.

The Rear Differential Lock will only engage when 4L is selected and speed is less than 5mph.

It is activated by pressing the button by the gear lever.

This locks the rear differential meaning the left and right wheels on the rear axle turn at the same speed.

ABS, ESC, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control do not work when diff lock is activated.

It provides more traction than a Limited Slip Differential (LSD).

The Rear Differential Lock automatically disengages when speed reaches 19mph.

UNDERBODY PROTECTION

To protect key components of the vehicle when travelling off-road, the underbody protection cover has been extended and there is now a new underbody air deflector:

1. 1.5mm steel skid plate.

2. 1.0mm steel guard for engine sump, transmission and transfer case.

3. NEW 5mm reinforced resin underbody air deflector.

WORKHORSE PEDIGREE

The All-New Isuzu D-Max is capable of towing up to 3.5 tonnes and carrying a payload of over a tonne.

All 4x4 models are equipped with trailer sway control that uses sensors to detect the onset of trailer swing and reduces vehicle speed if sway is identified.

Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control are standard on all variants. This practical specification helps the driver negotiate hills smoothly and get the job done safely.

Plus, with a diesel engine that delivers 164PS and 360Nm of torque, the All-New Isuzu D-Max is built for the long haul and the strong haul.

SAFER: A SAFER PICK-UP FROM THE GROUND UP

ADVANCED DRIVER ASSIST SYSTEMS (ADAS)

Advanced Driver Assist Systems are now standard on every variant of the All-New D-Max. Front stereo cameras are positioned at the top of the windscreen to monitor the road ahead and have a variety of applications. The following safety technology is available on every truck in the range:

AIRBAGS

Two new airbags have been introduced on he All-New D-Max:

A driver’s knee airbag is standard on all models = 7 airbags on single and extended cabs

A centre airbag is standard on double cab models = 8 airbags on double cabs

A passenger airbag deactivation switch is standard on all variants

E-CALL

E-Call dials the emergency services without the need of a connected phone and is standard on all variants.

It can be activated in two ways:

Airbag Deployment. The vehicle will send an emergency SOS call if it detects that the truck been involved in a serious collision.

Pushing the SOS Button. This is located in the overhead console and must only be used in emergencies.

5-STAR EURO NCAP

A maximum five-star safety rating has been awarded to the All-New Isuzu D-Max in the tough new Euro NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme) test.

The conditions for a 5-star rating on the latest Euro NCAP test are significantly higher than in previous years, with heavier and faster trolleys used in the collisions and the mandatory requirement of additional safety features.

By introducing the wide range of ADAS features, new airbags, larger brakes and by making alterations to the chassis, the All-New Isuzu D-Max is the first pickup truck to achieve all five stars.

The All-New D-Max scored maximum points for rescue and extraction thanks to the new advanced E-Call system. It also scored maximum points in the child occupant test for front and lateral collisions, where the stronger chassis, airbags and Isofix child seat anchors offered maximum protection to child occupants, based on 6 and 10-year-old children.

All double cab models are equipped with radar that can detect obstacles to the rear of the truck, which facilitate the following safety functions:

All-New D-Max have cruise control as standard but automatic transmissions offer the additional functionality of Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist and AT Pedal Misapplication Mitigation.

For additional safety following an accident, Multi-Collision Brake applies the brakes after a collision in which the airbags have been deployed. This reduces the speed of the vehicle and therefore the impact of any subsequent collisions, while improving controllability.

NO SPEED RESTRICTIONS

Every variant of the All-New Isuzu D-Max weighs under 2,040kg and is therefore subject to normal passenger car speed limits. Many double cab pick-up trucks exceed this weight limit so must comply with goods vehicle speed limits which are 10mph lower on single and dual carriageways.

ENGINE, SUSPENSION & TECHNICAL

MANUAL TRANSMISSION

A lockout has been introduced to prevent accidental engagement of reverse gear when moving down gears. The driver must now lift the release ring to select reverse gear.

CHASSIS CAB MOUNTS

A new design chassis cab mount is able to absorb more noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) travelling from the chassis into the cab. This results in an even quieter and more relaxed cab environment which therefore increases comfort for the occupants.

BRAKES

The front disc brakes and rear drum brakes are now larger to reduce noise and brake fade, increase service life and improve the brake feel.

REAR SUSPENSION

The rear suspension features a new design of rear leaf spring to improve the ride and comfort, especially when unladen, without compromising on carrying capacity:

Increased suspension articulation improves road holding and increases occupancy comfort by reducing bump stop contact.

The shock absorber is more efficient thanks to the reduced mount point angle which allows it to cushion impacts from the road more effectively.

FRONT SUSPENSION

New high-mounted upper control arms have been added on the front suspension which offer the following advantages:

Reduced body roll which improves handling.

Reduced vibration which improves driver comfort.

Increased tyre contact with the ground during cornering which improves stability.

STOP & START SYSTEM

To help improve fuel economy and reduce emissions, the All-New D-Max features a Stop & Start System as standard. This turns off the engine momentarily when the truck is at a standstill, for example in heavy traffic or at traffic lights.

ADBLUE

To achieve the latest Euro 6D emission standard, the All-New D-Max is fitted with a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to reduce harmful Nitrogen Dioxide levels which means AdBlue is now required.

The 14 litre AdBlue tank is located underneath

the body, in front of the fuel tank.

The filler is conveniently positioned next to the fuel filler on the rear offside panel.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION

The automatic transmission has been upgraded to enable up to 25% faster gear changes. This reduces inertia loss and provides a smoother ride.

The All-New Isuzu D-Max has taken a huge stride forward in terms of refinement, safety and comfort while retaining its core characteristics of strength, durability and capability.

The Euro 6D compliant diesel engine delivers 164PS and 360Nm of torque and is mated to a choice of either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic.

There are up to eight colours to choose from on the All-New Isuzu D-Max. Utility models are available in four colours (Splash White, Mercury Silver, Obsidian Grey and Onyx Black), DL20 models also come with the option of Spinel Red, the vibrant new Valencia Orange is offered from DL40 and the stylish Pearl White is exclusive to V-Cross models.

Splash White is free of charge. All other paint finishes are chargeable at £500 + VAT.

New: Valencia Orange is a new metallic paint finish introduced from DL40.

Replacements: Titanium Silver has been discontinued and is replaced by Mercury Silver. Cosmic Black has been discontinued and is replaced by Onyx Black. The shade and tone of Pearl White has been upgraded and is exclusive to the V-Cross.
