It’s built in the Ford plant in Chennai, India — one of the highest-quality global Ford plants based on several industry surveys conducted on Initial Vehicle Quality. Given the transport time to one of five U.S. ports, Ford offers dealers the ability to make EcoSport trades with other dealers while vehicles are in transit. Auto Start-Stop TechnologyThis feature helps reduce fuel consumption and vehicle tailpipe emissions during city driving by switching off the engine when the vehicle comes to a stop and is idle.• When the feature shuts down the

engine, the climate control fan, audio system and exterior lighting will continue to function as normal

• Shutting down the engine has no impact on the driving experience and the engine seamlessly restarts when the driver releases the brake pedal

• Defaults to On at each start-up; driver may deactivate the feature via the On/Off button

Traction ControlThis feature helps provide controlled acceleration and traction at all vehicle speeds. This feature electronically detects a difference in rotational speed between the front and rear wheels (tire slip). Here’s how it works:• Below 35 mph, the actuator pulses the brake calipers

to the drive wheels to reduce tire slip. By applying brake pressure and reducing engine torque to the drive wheels, traction is restored

• At speeds greater than 35 mph, brake activation is eliminated and only engine torque to the drive wheels is reduced until traction is restored

Wiper-activated HeadlampsThis driver-centric technology automatically turns on the headlamps and taillamps when the windshield wipers are being used — helping the driver see, and the vehicle be seen, in inclement weather.

MyKey®

MyKey allows vehicle owners to program keys with restricted driving modes to promote good driving habits. This feature is particularly useful for parents and fleet owners.

Rear View CameraThis driver-assist technology helps drivers maneuver their vehicle while in Reverse by displaying an image of the area directly behind the vehicle. The feature is especially useful when backing out of a parking space or parallel parking.

SOS Post-Crash Alert System™

This system automatically flashes the hazard lights and intermittently sounds the horn after an accident where the airbag(s) deploy(s) or when a properly engaged safety belt pretensioner is activated.(1)

• Automatically unlocks the doors, allowing rescue workers to open them from the outside

Intelligent Access with Push-button StartThis driver-focused technology allows owners to unlock, lock and start the vehicle when the key fob is close to or inside the vehicle. The system senses when the Intelligent Access key fob is in range and allows access to the vehicle when:• The front exterior door handle switch is activated• The swing gate button is pressed• A button on the key fob is pressedThe swing gate can be opened, without using the key, by pressing the switch on the pull cup located by the right rear taillight when the Intelligent Access key fob is in range. The key fob includes a removable mechanical key, allowing access to the vehicle if the key fob battery is dead.

Reverse Sensing SystemThe system automatically activates when the vehicle is placed in Reverse and can help make parking and maneuvering in tight spaces easier by audibly alerting the driver to certain objects close to the rear of the vehicle.• Can detect what the driver may not see, such as other

vehicles, fences, walls, concrete posts, plant containers, fire hydrants, etc.

• An audible succession of beeps will increase in frequency when the vehicle gets closer to an object. These beeps turn into a continuous tone when the vehicle comes within 10 inches of the object

NOTE: Driver-assist features are supplemental and do not replace the driver’s attention, judgment and need to control the vehicle.

BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-traffic AlertBLIS has sensors that help drivers watch their blind spots and can alert them by illuminating a light in the sideview mirror if another vehicle is detected in the blind spot. While they’re backing out slowly from a parking spot, cross-traffic alert watches for approaching traffic and can alert drivers if it senses another vehicle.

Windshield Wiper De-icerAvailable as part of the Cold Weather Package, this feature helps prevent ice and snow buildup around the wipers by heating the area where they rest when not in use. This feature also helps keep wiper blades pliable in cold weather so they contact the glass over their full arc.

Rain-sensing Windshield Wipers This system detects moisture on the windshield and activates the wipers to help increase driver visibility. Once the system is turned on, there is no need for the driver to activate, deactivate or adjust wiper speed under normal driving conditions. Here’s how it works:• When sensors mounted behind the

rearview mirror detect moisture on the windshield, the windshield wipers are automatically activated at the appropriate speed to keep the windshield clear

• Using the wiper stalk, the driver can rotate out of rain-sensing mode to standard, low- and high-speed settings or to the Off position

It’s important to advise customers that the system must be turned off before entering an automatic car wash.

VERSATILE REAR CARGO AREACustomers will appreciate that EcoSport offers a smart use of interior space. One example of how this Subcompact Utility offers versatility is the adjustable cargo floor. The outer composite structure surrounds a high-strength cellular inner core, which features a honeycomb design. This makes the shelf lightweight (only six pounds) yet is rated to hold up to 700 lbs. across the flat surface.(1) Customers can create personal storage solutions with the available Cargo Management Package featuring a cargo net, cargo organizer and three standard cargo floor load positions:

• In the lowest position, it serves as a load floor for maximum storage

• In the middle position, it creates a secure storage area beneath the floorboard

• In the high position, the area underneath increases to create a cargo floor that lines up with the fold-flat second-row seats

The 2018 EcoSport offers cool tech features that make driving more fun and convenient than ever. The foundation of the EcoSport tech lineup is the array of signature technologies such as available SYNC® 3(1) with Apple CarPlay™(2) and Android Auto™(2) capability. Its enhanced voice recognition makes it incredibly simple and smart to use. Drivers will appreciate the touchscreen that operates like a smartphone, with swipe and pinch-to-zoom (navigation) capability.
