Spreading Some Christmas Cheer!
Spanish Service Project: Celebrating Diversity, Languages, and Cultures!
The Spanish 3 students visited with the ESL students to practice their Spanish and celebrate the spirit of Christmas while sharing a good time with Ms. Carr’s
class. Students cooked delicious dishes from Mexico, Honduras and Peru. Thomas Lee prepared his favorite Peruvian dish “Papa a la Huancaína”. Our talented students not only could speak two languages, but they also could play
music and sing beautiful Spanish Christmas carols or “villancicos”. Finn Hewes led several fun games using language and communication. Reality McFarlin accompany the students with her keyboard while singing, dancing, and playing games. Ms. Carr’s and Mrs. Varn’s students enjoyed learning about cultural
celebrations from different countries while practicing their language
skills.
