Foot over head * – back contortion. Lying on stomach, push up to sphinx position. One hand to reach back and hold opposite foot. Roll forward onto elbow supporting upper body, bend other leg placing foot on knee to support the lifted leg.

Bendback  and  up  one  leg  extended-­‐  Students  to  execute  a  bendback  from  standing  position  demonstrating  an  upward  lift,  arms  by  the  head  and  control  to  the  floor.    Students  to  hold  bendback  position,  and  lift  one  foot  to  the  opposite  knee  then  extend  the  leg  perpendicular  hold  the  position  pushing  up  through  opposite  pelvis.  Recover  to  standing  position.

Bendback and up using one arm-Students to execute a bendback from standing position demonstrating an upward lift, and control to the floor using one arm. Students to hold bendback position, then recover to standing position. Repeat using other arm.

Side Mount – unsupported on both sides. Commence with feet together. Retire’ leg to knee and hold the inside of the foot with the free hand. Extend the leg maintaining alignment and balance over supporting leg.

Cartwheels in a fast continuous row– Students to demonstrate cartwheels on both sides in a continuous row (x4 minimum). Starting with arms in second and taking 4 counts for each cartwheel. Hands to be placed and removed from the floor one at a time. Legs and feet to be stretched throughout demonstrating split through the air and smooth transition from one cartwheel to the next.

Straightover – Commence from standing and lunge forward into handstand position. Extend legs over into a bendback. Hold the bendback position then recover to standing with arms by head and head relax. Demonstrate control and maintain placement.

Handspring – Run and hop into handstand position, spring off hands and land on feet in a stable position following the line and form of a straightover. Students to demonstrate dynamics and control with stretch feet and legs.

Non-Compulsory Skill of Teachers Choice – Speciality skill to be chosen by teacher to demonstrate students development and potential.

Set Choreography – to music

Refer to DVD

Cartwheel Combination- ballchange arms in second position [R,L](&1) fan kick [R] opposite arm circles over the head (2) step turn [R,L], arms in first (3,4) cartwheel [R](5,6,7,8) repeat 4 times. Repeat entire combination on other side.

Demonstrate control, stability and dance quality

Round off combination- Commence with both legs together at the end of studio. Tap foot to side (1) bring back together (2) repeat other side (3,4) run, run (5,6) hop (7) round off land (8)

Legs to come together perpendicular to the floor. Elevation to be shown with stable landing and body over the feet.

ARTISTIC CHOREOGRAPHY (minimum 60 seconds)

Dancer to utilise the compulsory components of this level plus asterisk components from previous level. Potential to use speciality skills at teacher’s discretion.
