Dear colleagues, The aim of the symposium is to review the current state of knowledge and present the scope of scientific research and innovation in the field of engineering design, product developing and management. We kindly invite You to join the 7th International Symposium "KOD 2012" which will take place on 24th and 26th May 2012 in Hotel Marina in Balatonfüred, Hungary. The basic goals of this symposium are: • to assemble famous investigators and practitioners from faculties, scientific institutes

and different enterprises or other organizations, • to enable presentation of new knowledge and exchange of practical experience in

mechanical and graphical engineering, industrial design and shaping, product development and management,

• to propose theoretically developed and practically tested solutions for improving the quality of products in mechanical engineering in order to achieve the highest possible position on the international market.

Participants of Symposium KOD 2012 contributed to the understanding of design building relationships across multidisciplinary design domains including engineering and product development, innovation, management, complexity, human behaviour and system design. The Symposium will provide an excellent opportunity for researchers to exchange ideas as well as discuss and identify current problems in the area product design, developing and management regarding to its:

function, purpose, structure, size, material, mass, ergonomics requirements, worker protection measures, aesthetic demands, production volume, delivery date, quality, reliability, operating life, efficiency, price, production method, assembling, numeration, testing,

conservation, package, storage, transportation, deconservation, mounting, handling, exploitation, service, maintenance, hygienic requirements, repair, atmospheric influence, biological factors, recycling, ecology, unexpected breakdowns, special demands, personal demands.

Abstracts prepared according to given instruction should be submitted before December 31st 2011. Final text papers prepared according to given instruction should be submitted before April 1st 2012. Accepted abstracts will be printed in Symposium proceedings – book of abstracts and final text papers will be reviewed and published in journal Machine Design, Vol.4 (2012). The number of papers is limited. One person can sign two papers at the most, but only one paper as the first author. We kindly ask authors to prepare text of abstracts and papers for journal according to the requirements and suggestions given into instructions. The official languages of the symposium is english.

HHOOTTEELL RREESSEERRVVAATTIIOONN

If you are interested to participate to the KOD 2012 symposium, we advise You to promptly book accommodations at the Hotel Marina. Accommodation payment will be done when participants come to the Symposium. It is ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL, so those who are not hotel guests will not be possible to present the Symposium. If You later decide not to present the Symposium, You can cancel Your accommodation two months before the symposium, without any additional cost. Check-in time for entering the room is from 14.00 o’clock, so participants should reserve accommodation for at least two days, 24/25 May (Thursday / Friday) and 25/26 May (Friday / Saturday) 2012. Participants who are interested may reserve before and after these days for the same daily price.

As a symposium group we got some discount, so accommodation for a person in single room costs 13,000 HUF (about 50 EUR) per day or in double room costs 10,000 HUF (about 40 EUR) per day, which is in fact pretty favorable price since participants get a full service, unlimited food and drink, the hotel has an indoor swimming pool, sauna, private beach on the lake, car parking. SSYYMMPPOOSSIIUUMM FFEEEE Symposium fee for authors and participants is 150 EUR. It includes book of abstracts, journal Machine Design, Vol.4 (2012), taxes for post and packaging, refreshments, coffee breaks, symposium gala dinner and sailing and shipping tour. Symposium fee for co-author or accompanying persons is 40 EUR.
