Mr. Edwin Otieno Head of Agent Banking at KCB – Kenya. He was among the pioneer members of Agent banking in KCB. He holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the same University. Edwin joined KCB as a Regional Sales Manager and later moved to Corporate Banking before joining Agency Banking as a Regional Manager and now heads the Unit. Under his leadership, KCB has won several awards including ‘Best Bank in Agency Banking Kenya’ from Think

Business Banking Awards. Edwin oversees support to the KCB subsidiaries in actualizing the vision of KCB Agent Banking and has lead the development and implementation of several products that has over the years positioned the bank as a preferred financial solutions provider in Africa with a global reach. KCB bank is present in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan and is now making inroads in Ethiopia and Somalia.

Mr. Meried Bekele Founder & CEO of IE Networks

Mr. Meried Bekele, Founder & CEO of IE Networks, was the first person to become Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) in Ethiopia in 2007 at age 24 while he was working as senior network operations expert for WoredaNet in Ministry of Communications and IT (then called EICTDA). Meried has got BSc in Electrical Engineering from Mekelle University and MBA in IT Management from Trident

University International in CA, USA. He is certified in IT service management (ITIL) and project management professional (PMP). Since November 2007, he has served as technical and project management consultant of Ethio telecom for USD 1.5 Billion national next generation network (NGN) program, which includes IP/MPLS, optical DWDM/SDH backbone/backhaul, fixed line NGN, CDMA, mobile (GSM/3G/LTE) and Network Operations Center (NOC) projects. He is also the architect of a national research and education network (NREN) that interconnects all public higher education institutions in Ethiopia - EthERNet (Ethiopian Education and Research Network) – with 40Gbps IP/MPLS OTN optical backbone. Moreover, he had founded and led IE Networks into a homegrown forefront IT infrastructure solution provider for Ethiopian Enterprises and public institutions.

Mr. Alper Daron Sales Account Manager-Middle East and North Africa at Verifone Alper has 10 years of experience in professional business life. He spent 6 years as a sales professional in New York and Istanbul in different industries with many customer facing responsibilities. Mr. Polycup Osero Head of Sales and Marketing at Fintech Kenya Limited

Mr. Polycup Osero is a leading Business Development consultant in financial technology and is currently the Group Head of Sales & Marketing at Fintech Group and Kenswitch.

He has gone through sales management training at Strathomore university and has attended numerous sales training and certifications from Microsoft Partner University and Oracle besides the two diploma certificates in Computer Science and Project management. Polycup is currently undertaking an undergraduate course in Management and leadership at the Management University of Africa. Polycup has over 15 years’ business development experience the financial sector having been a key player in the truncation and payments automation in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi and Rwanda besides working closely with Microfinance and cooperatives unions/Saccos in the region. Bizuneh Bekele is the founding and current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EthSwitch S.C., which is owner and operator of the National e-Payment Switch of Ethiopia. EthSwitch is established in 2011 by shareholding of all public and private Banks in Ethiopia with a vision is to become the unifying e-payment platform for Ethiopian financial institutions, anywhere anytime.

Since 2016 the National e-Payment Switch and Clearing System, as well as the Domestic Card Scheme, branded “ethioPay” has become operational, connecting all Banks in Ethiopia. Because of ethioPay now a cardholder of any bank in Ethiopia can withdraw cash from any other Bank ATM terminal deployed by any other Bank. Currently the company is working to expand the interoperability services to POS, Mobile and Internet based payments.
