Team Building Together!
After a long hiatus, we would like to welcome you to The 350 Post Newsletter; bringing you the latest in ongoing and upcoming store events, styling to sell, jewelry, community participation and more. Its main focus will be on how to connect with and make that special connec-tion with our customers. In addition, it will feature one or more SOS (Sale of Success) stories.
A Team Building Committee has been put together by Jennifer and Sonia who will be meeting once a month to discuss opportuni-ties that can bring us closer together as a store. Together, Fabian, Heidi, Maxine, Michele F., Tammy, and Tanya will be coordinating in store potlucks, hosting food, toy drives and more. Currently the Team Building Board in the lunch room has posted “What Motherhood Means to You”; an idea by our very own writer and mother herself, Maxine, in celebration of Mother’s Day. The Bay To Breakers countdown is posted on there too as a reminder from Tanya of the number of days left to get in shape for a very long 7.46 miles run or walk. Upcoming events that you can look forward to participating and/ or supporting your fellow colleagues are:
Mother’s Day employee toast (May 7th)
Bay to Breakers (May 16th)
SF Store Picnic (June 27th)
JP Morgan Corporate Challenge (August 4th)
Some of us have devoted our time to The Child Life Department at UCSF Children’s Hospital which brings laughter and smiles to children who are terminally ill, injured, or undergoing treatment. On the 15th of
every month, UCSF holds a bingo game day where every child gets to play and win prizes. They share this experience not only with their families, but those that volunteer their time to be a part of something positive. Not all of us have had the opportunity to go, but hopefully each of us gets a chance to participate
in this, because there is nothing more rewarding than making a child smile.
We are here to project what we know best, how we can make things better, be stronger, and be united in the journey of a great summer and an all around
phenomenal year. Every customer should always be treated like a GEM
meaning we should do our very best in Going the Extra Mile.

Miss Representation (formerly, Women & Power) by Actress, Filmmaker and First Lady of San Francisco, Jennifer Siebel Newsom
Miss Representation explores women’s under-representation in posi-
tions of power and influence in America by challenging the limited por-
trayal of women as encouraged by the mainstream media. As the most
persuasive and pervasive force of communication in our culture, the
media dictates cultural values and gender norms, which in turn seep
into our subconscious and impact both our attitudes and actions. In this
climate of dangerous stereotypes and rigid gender roles, women are
trivialized, objectified, and rarely viewed as powerful figures—making it
more difficult for many women and young girls to feel powerful them-
selves. Accompanied by a collaborative social outreach campaign, Miss
Representation will celebrate women’s progress across America and
empower our audience to take action for transformative social change.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom recently had an event held at Tiffany & Co. on
Wednesday, February 24th, in which over seventy guests attended. Mrs.
Newsom took the opportunity to promote the film as well as bring aware-
ness about the message. Shortly after her introduction, a trailer Miss
Representation was played. For every at purchase Tiffany & Co. that was
made during the month of February and the documentary referenced,
10% of the proceeds went towards the organization.
Named one if the world’s top ten parades, Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco is the largest celebration of its
kind outside of Asia. Reported by the SFPD it was said that 1,237,000 people watched the parade and one hundred
twenty units participated; many of the floats and specialty units
featured the theme of this year’s Chinese zodiac sign. Some of
the parade highlights included elaborately decorated floats,
school marching bands, martial arts groups, stilt walkers, lion
dancers, Chinese acrobatics, the newly crowned Miss Chinatown USA and the
Golden Dragon. This year Tiffany has launched a new charm collection created
by Paloma Picasso who was inspired by the Chinese Zodiac to depict each of
the 12 animals making up the horoscopes 12 year cycle.
Your 350 Post Newsletter Editor Danielle Lopez has participated in this marvel-
ous community event for the past 5 years. She has worked with VISA, California
Lotto, and Comcast choreographing for their floats and has worked with Jean
Parker and McCopplin Elementary, Saint Ignatius and American High School,
and the San Francisco Synchronized Swim Team. As this year celebrates the
Year of the Tiger, the students of SI high school wore traditional Chinese paja-
mas, tiger face paint complete with tiger ears performing a fan dance. At Tif-
fany & Co., we strive to ―create an environment that recognizes and rewards
creativity, initiative, and dedication and respects diversity, dignity and the shared values of community and family.‖
