All Open, Junior, Amateur & Jumper Classes, that are not limited, are pointed, as well as The Camelot Hunter Challenge. Classes that are limited & not pointed for example, are Medals, Green, etc. Points are accrued at all Camelot Events Shows. If a rider shows 2 horses in a class, the highest scoring horse receives full points - the 2nd scoring horse gets 1/2 points. The award may only be won once by a rider in each catagory. THE $250 CALIFORNIA CUSTOM BONNET JUMPER CHALLENGE
This a 3 round Jumper speed competition held at .80 Meters. Scores will be added together to determine the winner. Horses must have shown in at least 2 other classes at the show.
The winner will receive a Custom California Bonnet in their own personal colors.

607. $500 JUNIOR/AO HUNTER CLASSIC Special Award to Champion & Reserve
Ribbons 1 - 8Entry Fee - $50 Nominating Fee $15 Open to Juniors and Amateur Owners who have shown in at least two other classes at this show in their respective divisions. To be judged on even hunting pace, way of going, soundness, style of jumping. Fences 3’3” and 3’6” in height The open numerical scoring system will be used. To be held as a 2 round Hunter Classic. Top 12 scoring horses from the first round to return for a second round. lowest score going first, highest score going last. Scores will be averaged from both rounds to determine the winner. Final Round of the Division will count as the first round of the Classic Ties: The Judge’s decision will determine any ties. This class does not count toward the show championship. Open to horses, ponies, and riders that have competed in at least 2 classes in this horse show ; however, distances will not be adjusted for ponies.. The first round will be a regular hunter classic course consisting of at least eight fences at 2’6” or 3’ in height with 3 option fences 3” higher. The top 12 entries will return for a second round over a handy hunter course of eight fences with riders chosing their own course. (Take Your Own Line) Each fence of the Combination will be counted as a seperate fence, and a fence may be jumped twice as long as it is in the opposite direction. Two judges shall sit together and throw one score. After the judges’ score is given, one point will be added for each high option fence jumped (maximum of 3 points per round). Scores from both rounds will be added together to determine placings. Horses entered in this class will not be required to jog for soundness. Any unsoundness during the competition will be reflected in the scores from the judges. Winners must ride for awards. Must have a minimum of 8 horses to hold the class. Ribbons to 8th, and money to 6th to be divided as follows: 30%, 24%, 18%, 12%, 9%, 7%. Special Award to Champion , Reserve Champion, and special ribbon to High Score Amateur or Junior.

To be shown over a single round of at least 10 fences at 2’3” with 3 option fences of 2’6”. Entries may be asked to trot one obsticle. Open numerical Judging system. One point will be added to the Judges score for each higher option jumped. Ribbons to eighth and money to 5th to be divided as follows: 30%, 25%, 20%, 15%, 10% .

If the class is scratched by 5:00 pm the day prior to the class, full refunds will be given. Scratches on the day of the class will forfiet their entry fee minus a vet or doctors certificate. The Camelot Hunter Challenge is a unique Handy Hunter Class, with fences at 3’, for Junior and Amateur exhibitors held at California shows. At the end of each round, the Judge asks the rider a question pertaining to the Hunter Division.The first and second place ribbon winners qualify for the $1500 Finals held at The Camelot Classic On The Grass in October. It is a two round Finals with the second round held as a “take your own line” class with specially designed obstacles such as a walk or lead over jump, mail to be retrieved and read, a jacket to be used creatively, etc. Who knows what this year’s obstacles will be? The entire purse will be prsented to the winning horse with 50% going to the rider, 30% to the trainer, and 20% to the groom!

RULES AND GENERAL INFORMATIONAll Camelot Events Shows are covered by the rules & specifications of the current USEF, PCHA, LAHJA, & SFHJA Rule Books as applicable and will be conducted & judged in accordance therewith.
Life, senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competi-tions at the Preliminary Level or above and Combined Driving Competitions at the Advanced Level, Dressage, Reining and VaultingCompetitions and Endurance Rides. A nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent, coach or trainer at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions, Dressage Competitions, Reining Competitions and Combined Driving Competi-tions upon payment of a $45 Show Pass fee. Participants in the following classes are exempted from the Requirements of this rule: 1) leadline; 2) exhibitions; 3) games and races; 4) classes for 4-H members; 5) walk trot (exception: Friesian performance FR222) and academy classes (academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes; 7) NRHA Endorsed Reining Competitions. 8) Opportunity classes, 9) citizens of other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good standing of their own National Federation, 10) USEA beginner novice division; and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.CONDITIONS OF ENTRY- Every horse and pony entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but the Horse Show Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, & it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, it’s Directors, and Employees, Camelot Events, Rancho Victoria, the Los Angeles Equestrian Center, The City of Los Angeles, Paddock Riding Club, Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club, it’s Directors, Residents, and Employees harmless for any loss or accident to his horse, horses or equipment which may occur from accident, sickness, fire, or otherwise. Show Management reserves the right to change location of classes & to alter courses and/or fences, or to change Show Schedule as it deems necessary.
ENTRIES - No entry will be accepted unless it is accompanied by a check for entry fee deposit, nomination fees (if any), & stabling fees; & signed by the owner, his authorized agent, and the trainer.
ENTRY PROCEDURES - For each horse entered, send only a $125 Registration Fee along with the Stall Fee (if a stall is needed) and any Nomination Fees. Send with your filled out entry blank on or before the closing date of entries. Bring a check for the remainder of your entry fees to the show. NO NUMBERS WILL BE ISSUED WITHOUT FULL PAYMENT. A signed open check may be left for added classes. If entry blanks are postmarked on or before the closing date of entries and are properly filled out, $50 of the Pre Entry Fee will be credited to the entries due. Do not make entries from the time schedule – use the index to classes. All horses entered by the closing date will receive an automatic $50 credit to their account.All classes ridden without prior entry at Show Office will be charged $25 plus the class fee. (i.e. No entering at the back gate!) Management reserves the right to change arenas and time schedule as needed.Management reserves the right to change arenas and time schedule as needed.
CLOSED RINGS - Horses are not permitted in arenas when courses are being set.
STABLING - Stalls are available on a first come first serve basis. If no stall is ordered, a haul-in fee per day will be charged. No parking in the barn areas.REFUNDS - Before the closing of entries full refunds will be given. After the closing date, Entry Deposit Fees & Stall Fees, Will Not Be Refunded. After the show starts, class refunds will be given minus a $50 per horse “scratch fee”.
SUBSTITUTIONS -A horse may be substituted for a scratched horse if the rider or new horse is qualified for the class.
ADD BACK MONEY - In classes with add-back, prize money is computed from the number of horses that actually show. Horses entered but not showing will forfeit their add back money. Exception: Classes that are scratched by noon the day preceeding the class will have add-back refunded.
MINOR EXHIBITORS - Parents or guardians of minor exhibitors shall hold the Horse Show, Camelot Events, Camelot Riding Club, Inc., LA Equestrian Center, it’s owners and employees, harmless for injury to such minor. No child’s entry will be accepted unless entry blank is signed by a parent or guardian. The signature of instructors, agents or other unrelated persons will not be acceptable. Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind, including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles, on the competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a valid driver’s license. The parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of this rule will be cause for penalties against those responsible for the child committing the offense. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.The unsafe use of personal electronic transport devices, as determined by the competition officials and management in their sole discretion, that do not require a driver’s license to operate, including but not limited to segways, hover boards, and single wheeled scooters is prohibited on competition grounds. Operating such devices in areas where people gather may be deemed “unsafe use” if there is a risk of harm to others. If the operator of the device is a minor, the parent/legal guardian or individual who signs the entry blank as a parent or guardian of a minor operating the device in violation of this rule is accountable and may be subject to penalties. Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from this rule.
MANAGEMENT - The Horse Show Management reserves the right to itself to interpret all questions and conditions in regard to or rising out of or incident to the Show without claims for damages or recourse of any kind. All questions not covered in these rules and regulations shall be decided by the Horse Show Management, and their decision is to be final. The Horse Show Management reserves the right to change any course, cancel or combine any unfilled classes, reschedule classes after due notice

FEED AND BEDDING - can be ordered through LAEC FEED & BEDDINGPH 818/641-5090 FAX 818/973-1048 la-equestriancenter.com (online forms) All feed bills must be paid before departing the grounds. All orders must be in by 1:00 PM each day for same day delivery. There is a $30 Split Fee at LAEC.
R.V. PARKING & TRAILER PARKING - All overnight trailer parking will park in a designated area. Fee - $60 per day. Pump outs may be arranged for an extra fee.
RETURNED CHECKS - Checks returned by the bank for any reason are regarded as a most serious offense and will be handled according to the following procedure - All returned checks will be charged $35. Accounts will be given ten days to be paid in full or they will be turned into USEF and PCHA for further disciplinary action.
PRIZE MONEY - No prize money will be mailed unless the owners social security number is listed on the entry blank and the entry check has cleared the bank. Prize money will be sent within 30 days of the last day of the show.
NON-SHOWING HORSES - Any horse on the grounds that is not showing in the horse show will pay a $50 ‘non-showing’ fee.
UNPAID CHARGES - Any exhibitor leaving the show with unpaid entry fees will be billed and a $35 billing fee will be added to their charges.
MEMBERSHIP/MEASUREMENT CARDS - Don’t forget to include photocopies of your USEF/USHJA membership cards, amateur card (if you are a USEF amateur) and any measurement cards (for ponies or junior hunters) when mailing your entries in. Also the horses vacination record. This will speed up the check in process. If you don’t, be prepared to show them in the office on the day you check-in. Entry numbers cannot be released without the proper credentials.
MEDICAL WASTE - In accordance with the rules of USEF, bio-hazardous medical waste containers are provided in the stable area. All exhibitors and their agents are responsible for the proper disposal of this waste.
ARENASLAEC Arenas - Dimensions are as follows: Equidome (GGT Footing) – 150 x 300; Large Oval – 150 x 285 (GGT Footing); East Ring (Sand) – 140 x 275; Allen Arena East & West GGT Footing) – 150 x 300.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR - It is compulsory for all persons at federation licensed hunter, jumper, or hunter/jumper competitions when mounted anywhere on the show grounds, to wear properly fastened protective headgear which meets or exceeds ASTM/SEI standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. It must be properly fitted with harness secured. It is the responsibility of the rider, or the parent or guardian or trainer of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards for protective headgear intended for equestrian use, and is properly fitted and in good condition, and the federation, show committee, and
licensed officials are not responsible for checking headgear worn for such compliance.
COURSES - Courses may consist of any combination of the following; brush, gate, oxers, post and rails, water, liverpools, ditch, walls, panels, banks and coops. The horse show management reserves the right to adjust fence heights or spreads in jumper classes as competition warrants.
ABUSE - Abuse includes, but is not limited to, excessive use of the whip and/or spurs and use of the whip in front of the horses shoulder. Any action(s) against a horse by a competitor or an exhibitor, which are deemed excessive , Federation steward, technical delegate, or competition veterinarian, in the competition ring or anywhere on the competition grounds may be punished by official warning, elimination, or other sanctions which may be deemed appropriate by the Show Committee. Cruelty and Abuse will not be tolerated at any time at the Earl Warren Showgrounds, Camelot Riding Club or the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.
SCHOOLING SUPERVISION: Please be advised that starters are part of the schooling supervisor staff and as such have authority to enforce USEF schooling rules. Violations in the schooling ring should immediately be brought to the attention of the starter of the corresponding ring.
CONFLICTS: It is the intention of management to avoid holding rings to wait for horses and/or riders. Riders with conflicts must arrange their jumping order with the starters so that they will not hold up a class. Starters have the authority from management to scratch riders who are not timely.
DESIGNATED PARKING: All trucks, autos, golf carts, and other motorized vehicles must be parked in designated areas only. To insure the safety of all exhibitors, only persons with a valid driver’s license may operate any motorized vehicles (electric or gasoline).
EQUINE HEALTH ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Protecting the health of all horses is of utmost imoirtance to Camelot Events. An Event Participation Declaration must be signed by the Owner/Agent/Trainer verifying that the horse has been healthy with no sign of infectious desease & has not had a fever above 102 degrees F within 3 days of arrival.The form will be available at the show office. Each horse needs a Proof of Vacination signed by a veterinarian that the horse /pony has been vacinated against the following: Equine Influenza, EHV 1 and EHV 4.

CLASS SPECIFICATIONSCamelot Shows are covered by the rules and specs. of the USEF Rule Book and will be judged and conducted in accordance therewith. Classes will be judged on performance & soundness unless otherwise noted.
BLUE/RED WARM UP- Judges scores - 80+ = Blue Ribbon/ 75-79 = Red Ribbon. Class is open all day at different heights.
TB YEAR END AWARD & TB DAILY HIGH POINT AWARD - simply enrole your Thoroughbred once at the Show Office with proof of breed (papers, lip tatoo, TIP #, or Jockey Club Bloodline Chart). Points in all Hunter & Jumper classes being judged on the horse will be tabulated throughout the year.
JUMPERS - Jump Order will be by computer selection. Ties will be decided by time taken.
THE CAMELOT HUNTER CHALLENGE - is to be held as a one round class with a question asked of the rider by the judge at the end of each exhibitor’sround.The question should pertain to hunters - tack, jumps, courses, etc.The course is to be a Handy Hunter course with at least 8 fences at 3’. Top 2 riders (that complete the course without a major fault) will qualify for the $1500 Finals. to be held in October at the beutiful Santa Barbara Polo Club! Minimum of 2 riders to fill the class.Qualified horses may continue to compete.
OPPORTUNITY CLASSES - No USEF/USHJA Membership Fees, no Horse USHJA Fees. Riders may not cross enter into any Rated USEF Section (ie:Pony Hunters, Children’s Pony Hunters, etc.)
OUTREACH CLASSES - Are Part Of The USHJA Outreach Program. USEF & USHJA membership is not required to participate in the Outreach Classes at this show. Non USEF & USHJA members will NOT be charged a non-member or Show Pass Fee. USHJA Membership is required ONLY for an individual wishing to earn points toward USHJA sponsored year-end awards.
CHILDREN’S HUNTERS Riders may not cross enter into any Junior Hunter Class, First Year Green Working Hunter, Second Year Green Working Hunter or High Performance Working Hunters at the same show. Exception - under saddle classes. Children’s riders may not cross enter into any class at the same competition with fences exceeding 3’3” (exception: Jumper Classes exceeding 1.20m, Equitation and MedalClasses, and
the USHJA National Hunter Derby).A Children’s Hunter rider may ride a Junior Hunter in the Junior Hunter Under Saddle class for a Junior Hunter rider that has more than one horse entered. No cross entryrestrictions at one-day competitions. Horses may not cross enter into any 3’6” Junior Hunter Class at the same competition. No cross entry restrictions at one-day competitions.
CHILDREN’S PONY HUNTERS - Fences - 2’ for Small/Medium Ponies - 2’6” for Large Ponies. Spreads may not exceed fence heights, & combinations are not permitted. Riders may not cross enter into any division with fences 3’3” (except Children’s Jumpers). May be combined with Child Hunter and/or A-A Hunters if there are fewer than 3 entries.
ADULT HUNTERS - Riders may not cross enter into any Amateur Owner hunter class (at the same competition), First Year, Second Year or High Performance Working Hunter at the samecompetition. Exception - under saddle classes.Adult Amateur Riders may not cross enter into any class at the same competition withfences exceeding 3’3” except Jumper Classes exceeding 1.20m, Equitation and Medal Classes, and the USHJA National Hunter Derby. An Adult Amateur rider may ride an Amateur Owner Hunter in the A/O Under SaddleClass for an Amateur Owner rider that has more than one horse entered.No cross entry restrictions at one-day competitions.

In all other classes of the section fences to be set no lower than 1.10m and no higher than 1.15m

Camelot Events AwardsTrainers Gift Certificates - At each Camelot Events Show, a trainer’s highest scoring Hunter, Jumper, & Equitation Rider of the day will count toward a Trainer’s Series Points. A $1000 Gift Certificate for the Spring & Fall Series, and a $500 Gift Certificate for the Summer Series to Calabasas Saddlery will be awarded at each Series End on May 8, Sept. 13, & Nov. 22. Only sections that are awarded a show championship will count (ie: All classes in the Section must have a min. of 3 en-tries to count, & to be eligible). Rider’s Show Bucks - $2000 In Show Bucks will be presented to the High Scoring 2’6” & Over Rider and 2’3” & Under Rider at both the Winter/Spring Show Series and the Fall Show Series. Show Bucks may be used during a complete calendar year from the date won, and may be used in exchange for all Camelot Events class fees and stall charges. Show Bucks must be used by the winning rider only, but may be used for multiple horses owned or ridden by that rider. Rider must have attended a min. of 3 shows in the series. All Pony classes will count – Rated Pony Hunters & Children’s Pony Hunters – and the relat-ed Equitation Divisions. Only the Pony’s 2 highest scoring Divisions will count. ie: If a Pony enters Short Stirrup Hunters, Children’s Pony Hunters, and Rated Pony Hunters – only 2 Divisions will count toward the Over-All Award. The related Equitation Division’s points will automatically count. This is to keep an even playing field for all horses and ponies.
Summer Series Gift Certificates - $500 Gift Certificates to Calabasas Saddlery will be presented to the High Scoring Trainer, 2’6”& Over Rider, and 2’3” & Under Rider of the Series . Must attend a min. of 2 of the 3 shows to be eligible for the award. Gift Certificates are sponsored by the generosity of Calabasas Saddlery.
