Multi-Tiered, Multi-Domain System of SupportsHelps school counselors organize their continuum of services in order to: 1. Ensure all students receive developmentally

appropriate instruction per each domain and meet the associated standards and competencies

2. Meet students’ individualized levels of need3. Maximize their impact on student achievement

Providing a strong prevention-oriented framework by devoting significant time to teaching classroom lessons and school-wide activities within Tier 1 reduces the likelihood of students qualifying for Tier 2 and 3 interventions.

Takeaways1. Let’s move from a position of reactivity to one of program,

through TIER 1.

2. ALL students deserve a school counseling core curriculum.

3. To start, do ONE THING WELL and measure it. Then share!

4. If it’s not written down/recorded, it didn’t happen.

5. If you didn’t assume the leadership role to share it, then it didn’t happen.
