To promote the knowledge and experience exchanges among the international experts, and enhance the
technology cooperation among the nations, the International Conference on Waste Management and
Technology is held annually and has been held for 9 times since 2005. It is hosted by Tsinghua University,
Solid Waste and Chemicals Management Center, Ministry of Environmental Protection of China, Southwest
University of Science and Technology, United Nations Environment Programme, Stockholm Convention
Regional Centre for Capacity-building and the Transfer of Technology in Asia and the Pacific. Organized
by Basel Convention Regional Centre for Asia and the Pacific, Key Laboratory of Solid Waste Treatment
and Resource Recycle (SWUST), Ministry of Education, The Society of Solid Waste of Chinese Society
for Environmental Science, Chinese Research Academy of Environmental Sciences, Research Institute of
Solid Waste Management. Co-organized by Key Subject Laboratory of National Defense for Radioactive
Waste and Environmental Security, Sichuan Province Cyclic Economy Research Center, International Waste
Working Group. Supported by Ministry of Climate Change, Government of Pakistan, Ministry of Environment,
Cambodia, Ministry of Environment, Green Development and Tourism, Mongolia, Ministry of Mahaweli
Development and Environment, Sri Lanka, Ministry of Natural Resource and Environment MONRE, Lao

Technology
Educated in Switzerland (doctoral degree in natural sciences, ETH Zurich)
and the USA (post doctoral fe l low in Environmental Engineering,
Stanford University), Dr. Brunner holds the chair for waste management
at the Vienna University of Technology, and specializes in waste and
resource management. His research focuses on the “metabolism of the
anthroposphere”, in particular on methods to analyze, evaluate and
control material flows through urban regions. The results are applied
for decision making in the f ie lds of resource management, waste
management, and environmental protection. They serve e.g. as a base
for designing sustainable products, processes and systems, for nutrient
management, and for urban planning. Other activities of Dr. Brunner
include: development of goal oriented waste management concepts;
assessment methods for waste management systems; research into
methods for waste analysis and waste treatment; the search for ultimate
sinks such as final storage landfills.

International Congress of Applied Mineralogy, and committee member of 12th
International Congress of Applied Mineralogy. Editorial board member of Acta
Mineralogica Sinica, Journal of Functional Materials,Bulletin of Mineralogy,
Petrology and Geochemistry.
Director of The Seventh Council Chinese Society for Mineralogy,Petrology
and Geochemistry; vice chairman of Technical Mineral,Mineral physics, Mineral
and Rock materials, Speciality Committee of Chinese Society for Mineralogy,
Petrology and Geochemistry.Executive member of the Sixth Council of the
Chinese Silicates Society, vice chairman of the Non-metallic Mineral Speciality
Committee of Chinese Society for Geology, executive director of Sichuan Young
Scientist United Council, vice director-general of Sichuan Nano-Tech Asso-
ciation Council.Professor Dong has been engaged in teaching and scientific
research of mineral materials, environmental friendly materials, and minerals
application in environmental engineering. He proposed mineral materials idea,
established the applied mineralogy system, put forward the new concept of
mineral ultrafine effect, and cultivate a batch of senior talents of mineral materials.
From the concept of material-ecological environment – health, he created a new
direction of environmental coordinated mineral materials, developed a series
of eco-functional elementary materials and composite ecological building
material products.
He has taken the lead interdisciplinary research about “the nonasbestos fibers
and mineral dust in atmosphere– microorganismnuclide” in domestic, put
forward the concept of fiber total toxicity, model of the interfacial membrane
system and surface medial-matter, and had broken the traditional research model
of fiber dust toxicity which only concentrated on the medical symptoms.
Prof. Dong has public more than 200 articles, including more than 60 have been
had been cited by SCI, EI and ISTP in the fields of fiber surface properties of
minerals, ultrafine processing characteristics, environmental safety assessment,
biological activity on the journal of Bioresource Technology, Geogia Sinica,
Applied Surface Science,Journal of Silicate and other important academic
journals at home and abroad. He has authorized 9 invention patents. His scientific
research and teaching achievements had honored for the science and technology
progress prize in Sichuan province and Shaanxi province. As the first author,
he had edited four monographs: 《Integration Technology of Eco-functional
Elementary Materials and Integration Technology of Composite Building
Materials》 and 《Study on Applied Mineralogy of Fibrous Brucite》etc, three
special issues 《Research on Environmental Mineralogy and Environmental
Medicine》etc . He presided and had finished more than 20 items scientific
projects of National 863 Plan, the National Natural Science Fund of China,
CIDA project, the Ministry of Education, the National Building Materials
Industry Fund Project, the National Bureau's projects and the provincial and
ministerial supported projects etc.

Dong Guan CGN Co., Ltd.
Dong Guan CGN Co. Ltd., (China CGN Group, or
CGN) is known as one of the world’s first, use of
ceramic nano technology, to develop full lines of
energy saving lighting products, it is also the world's
first to use recycled materials from old wasted
fluorescent tubes, to produce energy saving lighting
products.
CGN was founded in 2011, is set research and
development, production, sales and service in one
enterprise. Based on its 130+ worldwide registered
patents, CGN creatively create tube in tube light,
bulb, spiral lamps, floodlights and street lamps series
of energy-efficient products, and set a high standard
in lighting product industry. CGN product were
shipped worldwide in last several years, include
Japan, Singapore, Macao etc as well as China
mainland. Some well-known clients include Pepsi,
Jusco, Sharp China, Foxconn Technology ,Changde,
JiangXi Hunan highway projects…
Besides, CGN receives numerous honors since that, the company also rewards as a research base and postgraduate
internship base for Shenzhen University, Jinan University and some other colleges and universities, and became
the cradle of the culture of green energy talent!
In December 2014, CGN participated in the national contest of innovation and entrepreneurship, our project "Recycling
Waste Fluorescent Tubes" became the only one project to represent Guangdong Province, and eventually won the
first prize in the category of energy-saving and environmental protection, and the 7th of the final contest. The project
received a number of attentions from domestic enterprises and foreign investors.
“In China, there are 1.2 billion tubes abandoned each year, if we could recycle 10% of waste fluorescent tubes, by
using CGN energy efficiency lighting products (compare with fluorescent tube), we can save almost 8 billion KW
of electricity for the country. In addition, through the extract from the tubes, recovered 160 tons of mercury, 930
tons of rare earth and other powder 5000 tons, we can create 1 billion RMB Yuan GDP.”, said Dr Dai, founder of
China CGN Group.
We are creating green GDP, but we don’t forget to maintain our green environment. We appeal all of us work together,
save energy and do something for our green earth.

Reuse & recycling at HP
When HP’s products reach the end of their useful lives, we do everything we can to provide options for responsible
collection and treatment. HP is an industry leader in product take-back programs, which we began offering in 1987.
Since then, we have recovered 1,683,000 tonnes (3.71 billion pounds) of computer hardware (for reuse and recycling)
and HP supplies (for recycling).
Today, we offer consumers take-back programs in 73
countries and territories. We also extend the life of
some HP hardware through remanufactur ing and
refurbishment programs, such as HP Renew. These
reuse older products, keeping them in circulation.
We recycle what cannot be reused, recovering valuable
materials in the process. As a last resort, we responsibly
dispose of anything that remains.
We work with closely vetted reuse and recycling vendors to ensure environmentally responsible and high value
