singing, authentic guitar and rhythmicwashboard were an integral part of thegroup’s four groundbreaking traditionalalbums. He also appeared on dozens of otherpeople’s recordings – most notably theoriginal Blues Project album - and married

band mate Maria D’Amato. When the Jug Band disbanded in 1968,

Geoff and Maria Muldaur collaborated on twowell-received albums, and then went theirseparate ways. He recorded five solo albums inthe middle and late 1970s and also was a keymember of Paul Butterfield’s Better Days. Then, as he elegantly put it, “I retired for 17years.” He still somehow managed to producealbums for artists like the Borneo Horns andthe Richard Greene String Quartet, win anEmmy award, and have his recording of“Brazil” serve as the inspiration and title tunefor Terry Gilliam’s movie of the same name.

His return to the spotlight began in the late1990s as a member of John Sebastian’s J

Band. He soon hit the road and therecording studio. “Secret

Handshake” was released in 1998and was followed by “Password”in 2000: both received ecstaticreviews. In 2003 he released twoalbums: “Beautiful Isle of

Somewhere (Live),” an intimateblues and jazz concert recording, and “Private Astronomy – a Vision

of the Music of Bix Beiderbecke”by Geoff Muldaur’s Futuristic

Ensemble, a reinterpretation ofthe jazz legend’s music withvocals by Geof f, MarthaWainwright, LoudonWainwright III, and Geoff’sdaughters Jenni and Clare. He now tours regularly inEurope and the United

States, providing old and newfans the opportunit y to

Geoff Muldaur Custom Signature EditionRecreates Classic 00 12-fret Martin Design

Fellow musician Richard Thompson saidit best. “There are only three white bluessingers, and Geoff Muldaur is at least twoof them.”

To anyone who appreciates Geof fMuldaur, even that description seemsinadequate. He ranks as one of the greatmusical forces to emerge from the folk, bluesand traditional music revival of the 1960s. Inaddition to his one-of-a-kind voice, hisencyclopedic knowledge of American music, immaculate guitar playing, and impressive songsand arrangements have captivated twogenerations. Perhaps most exciting of all, hisrecent musical forays are among the mostinventive of his career.

For several years, Geoff’s guitar of choicehas been a 1930s Martin 00 12-fret, oneoriginally made for Hawaiian playing (with araised nut and flush frets) and later converted tostandard configuration. C.F. Martin is pleased tohonor Geoff Muldaur by updating thiselegant design, considered by manyto be among the best soundingMartins ever made. The Martin00-18H Geoff Muldaur CustomEdition takes the elements thatmake the originals such classicsand adds some very tast ytouches. The result is a modernclassic, like the man it honors.

Originally from New York,Geoff Muldaur was collectingold records, playing soloblues guitar and hitting theroad for musicalinspiration even beforehe arrived at BostonUniversity in the early1960s. Boston was ahotbed of musical stylesat the time, and af terrecording a solo bluesalbum, Geof f became afounding member of the JimKweskin Jug Band. His f ine

“As far as I’m concerned, Martin doesn’t make guitars
