September 2018 SCCC Business of the Month: CCGGA
Central Coast Greenhouse
Growers Association
(CCGGA) started in the late
1980s. It currently repre-
sents approximately 17
local nursery businesses in
the general Nipomo, Arroyo
Grande, and Santa Maria
area. Many of these busi-
nesses are family owned
and operated and have
been located on the Central
Coast for 20-30 years.
Many of the grower/owners
live on their nursery sites,
and in all cases, the man-
agement staff of these busi-
nesses are residents of our
local area making CCGGA
truly a homegrown organiza-
tion with its roots in the
local community. CCGGA
acts as a good neighbor,
providing information and
education to neighbors,
other community groups, or
businesses, as well as
county, state, or federal
agencies. The CCGGA acts
on behalf of its members in
resolving issues that arise
with neighboring communi-
ties as they work to coexist
and enjoy the numerous
benefits the Central Coast
provides for both living and
growing high-quality plants.
and Nora O’Donnell. Thank you to our supporting spon-sors, Rabobank, KSBY, Dimes Media, New Times, SM Sun, AGM, and Smart and Final. The expanded kids zone was a big hit, thank you Central Coast Party Factory. Lastly, congrats to our local businesses that participated in the Stone Soup Special promotion. Here are the win-ners (865 votes total): 1st place La Casita Mexican Restaurant 2nd place SLOCO Data and Discovery Dining 3rd place The Spoon Trade We also passed out thousands of “swag” bags and programs promoting local businesses.
