1 Corinthians 1:3-9

Grace and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I continual-ly thank my God for you because of the favor he has bestowed on you in Christ Jesus, in whom you have been richly endowed with every gift of speech and knowledge. Likewise, the witness I bore to Christ has been so confirmed among you that you lack no spiritual gift as you wait for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ. He will strengthen you to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, and it was he who called you to fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lucas 17:11-19 Mientras se dirigía a Jerusalén, Jesús pasaba a través de Samaria y Galilea. Al entrar en un poblado, le salieron al encuentro diez leprosos, que se detuvieron a distancia y empezaron a gritarle: «¡Jesús, Maestro, ten compasión de no-sotros!. Al verlos, Jesús les dijo: «Vayan a presentarse a los sacerdotes. Y en el camino quedaron purificados. Uno de ellos, al comprobar que estaba curado, volvió atrás alabando a Dios en voz alta y se arrojó a los pies de Jesús con el rostro en tierra, dándole gracias. Era un samaritano. Jesús le dijo entonces:

Continuamente agradezco a mi Dios los dones divinos que les ha concedido a ustedes por medio de Cristo Jesús, ya que por él los ha en-riquecido con abundancia en todo lo que se refiere a la palabra y al conocimiento; porque el testimonio que damos de Cristo ha sido confirmado en ustedes a tal grado, que no carecen de ningún don ustedes, los que esperan la manifestación de nuestro Señor Jesucristo. Él los hará permanecer irrepro-chables hasta el fin, hasta el día de su advenimiento. Dios es quien los ha llamado a la unión con su Hijo Jesucristo, y Dios es fiel.

Lc 17:11-19 Khi Chúa Giêsu đi lên Giêrusalem, Người đi qua biên giới Samaria và Gali-lêa. Khi Người vào một làng kia, thì gặp mười người phong cùi đang đứng ở đàng xa, họ cất tiếng thưa rằng: "Lạy Thầy Giêsu, xin thương xót chúng tôi". Thấy họ, Người bảo họ rằng: "Các ngươi hãy đi trình diện với các tư tế". Trong lúc họ đi đường, họ được lành sạch. Một người trong bọn họ thấy mình được lành sạch, liền quay trở lại, lớn tiếng ngợi khen Thiên Chúa, rồi đến sấp mình dưới chân Chúa Giêsu và tạ ơn Người; mà người ấy lại là người xứ Samaria. Nhưng Chúa Giêsu phán rằng: "Chớ thì không phải cả mười người được lành sạch sao? Còn chín người kia đâu? Không thấy ai trở lại tôn vinh Thiên Chúa, mà chỉ có người ngoại bang này". Rồi Người bảo kẻ ấy rằng: "Ngươi hãy đứng dậy mà về: vì lòng tin của ngươi đã cứu chữa ngươi".

LEADER

We come to our table to welcome this feast of Thanksgiving with joy and with glad-ness. We have prepared this feast with good food and drink. We have gathered together and come around this table to feast and to celebrate the many things for which we are grateful. The Lord is our light and our salvation. May this light burn brightly in our hearts and around this table this Thanksgiving.

(Grandparent or older child lights a candle.)

LEADER: Loving God, amid all the troubling news of the world…

ALL: thank you for the good news of the Gospel. LEADER: Amid the fear of foreigners, ALL: thank you for helping us welcome strangers. LEADER: In the hectic race for wealth, ALL: thank you for opening us to the joys of shar ing and of serving others. LEADER: Amid the pain of sin and brokenness, ALL: thank you for helping us to be compassionate healers. LEADER: When we are tempted to think violence is the only way to reach our goals, ALL: we thank you for guiding us into ways of peace and reconciliation.

ALL: Together we praise you, Almighty God, for that is what you desire - that your children love one another that your family gathers together, that your people work with each other toward one eternal goal. Together we bless you - for all we have and all we are. Bless our time together, we pray, with your favor and presence. Together we praise! Amen. We give thanks today for all of the many gifts that we have received. (Each person states one thing that he/she is thankful for.)

Let us also remember those members of this family and those loved ones who are not present at our table. (A silent pause, or the names of individuals may be said aloud.)
