1.EXT- A SMALL TOWN BUS STOP- EARLY MORNING/DAY

Early morning about 7.30 - 8.00 am. As the sun is rising a busenters the frame. It stops at a small town bus stop. Hyderabad- Vanaparthi is written behind the bus.

A boy aged about 16-17 gets down from the bus. A bag ishanging on his shoulder. He is Vamsi.

Vamsi looks around. Near by bus stop is a small hotel withbustling activity of tea vending and serving hot breakfast tocustomers sitting in the open on a wooden benches.

Vamsi slowly walks up to the shop. Tea master/shop owner isporing the tea from a reasonable height from a tumbler looksat Vamsi.

Vamsi stands there and looks at him. Teashop owner extends aglass and offers tea. Vamsi shakes his suggesting "NO". Hequestioningly looks at Vamsi.

Vamsi searches his pokets and looks at a piece of paper andreads out something. Tea shop owner approvingly nods his head.

People having breakfast turn their head and look at Vamsi.Embarrassed Vamsi shyly shakes his head.

Tea shop owner smiles at him and shows his finger at a roadleft to him and suggests as if it is at some distance.

Vamsi makes a thank you gestures and starts walking towardsthe path shown by the teashop guy as the tea shop owner looksat him once and gets back on to his job.

CROSS FADE

EXT.STREET / CLINIC . EARLY MORNING/DAY

Vamsi appears at the corner as he enters the street. His faceis filled with anticipation. His face swells with tension andhe clings on to his bag tight and his peace of the walkincreases. He is looking at a building.

The building is a two floored old one. A tattered boardreading "" with a mother and child symbol suggestingit to be a maternity clinic.

As Vamsi reaches near the clinic, an attendant comes out ofthe door with a broom in his hands sweeping the floor.Vamsiwalks up to the door and stands. attendant sweeps with a swiftand the dust raises on to Vamsi. As Vamsi steps back coughing,attendant looks at him irritatingly.

ATTENDANT!

Vamsi moves next to the place and stands. attendant sweepsagain in an opposite direction and dust thrown again on toVamsi.

attendant looks at Vamsi with disapproval. Vamsi takes anotherstep and stands. attendant stops cleaning and asks him.

ATTENDANT !

VISIT(hesitatingly looks at the

clinic and the attendant)...

A surprise on the face of attendant. He looks up and down onto Vamsi.

ATTENDANT?

VAMSI.

ATTENDANT....?

VAMSI...

Attendant moves close to Vamsi and looks at his watch.

ATTENDANT. ! ? ...(looking at the street)

....

Vamsi holds his bag tight and looks at the path the attendantis staring and looks back and says...

VAMSI. ...

Attendant starts sweeping again as Vamsi silently standsthere. As if tensed, his feet is moving and his hand isclosely holding the bag strap.

Attendant agin looks at him and says...

ATTENDANT. ....

Vamsi moves from there and enters the clinic.

CUT.

INT. CLINIC HALL WAY : MORNING/DAY

Vamsi stands before the reception and looks at the nameplates. Two name plates are neatly stuck up on to wall andthey read "Dr.Vasavi, DGO, Gynecologist" "Dr.Avinash, MD,Civil surgeon"

Vamsi comes close to the name board and he looks at Dr.Avinash's name.

CUT.

EXT. A SMALL INDE3PENDENT HOUSE: DAY

CUT.

A board reading "Dr.Avinash, MS, Civil surgeon" is hangingnext to the door. It is a small independent house. A smallMaruthi 800 is parked in front of the house.

We could hear some kitchen sounds.

CUT.Int of the house

Dr. Avinash a 25-30 year old handsome man is walking out ofbedroom putting on his shirt buttons. He looks at kitchen andsays..

AVINASH...?

A voice of Bhavana from kitchen...

BHAVANAYah almost done. .

Avinash walks up to the dining table and sits.

A plate served with Upma and pickle lands in front of him andBhavana a 20-25 year old good looking woman dressed in hernighty sits next to him with another plat in her hand.

Disappointingly Avinash looks at the plate and looks back atBhavana ans says...

AVINASH...

Bhavana teasingly smiles at him and puts a spoon of Upma is

her mouth and says..

BHAVANA.........

AVINASH(trying to suppress hislaughter)

...

BHAVANA.... ...

Avinash looks at Bhavana and tells her..

AVINASH(convincingly)

... . .(he takes a spoon ofupma in his hand and takes it up tohis mouth and puts it back. Looks atBhavana, she is bending her head downand looking at upma as spoon in herhand is restlessly moving in theplate) . . . ...

Bhavana gets up from the dining table takes the plate in herhand. Looks at Avinash with no expression in her face.

BHAVANA. . But some times ....As if I have lost my life. (Sheplaces her hand on the belly andlooks away from Avinash) . Youknow what I mean right Avinash!

Avinash gets up from the table and comes close toBhavana.Holds her close and kisses on her forehead and says...

AVINASHI know what you mean dear. (He looksat his watch) Hei...its time for meto leave.

Avinash leaves Bhavana and picks up his bag on the sofa.

BHAVANA(while keeping her plate in her

hand on the table and lookingat his upma filled plate.)

! ....

He turns back and smiles at her and says...

AVINASH. .

Bhavana blushes with his teasing. Avinash walks up to her andhiugs her again and says...

AVINASH. . May be you can get yourregular check up done and than we

will go for a long drive. OK

Bhavana knods her head. Avinash leaves her and walks towardsthe door.

Bhavana picks up the plates from dining table.

Avinash's car sound is heard.

CUT

Ext.

Avinash's car leaves the building.

INT. CLINIC HALL WAY : DAY

Dr. Aviash enters the clinic. Attendent is seen cleaning thereception area. Avinash looks at him.

AVINASH(suggesting towards thereceptionist's chair)

...

ATTENDANT!

AVINASH!

ATTENDANT

(moving towards Avinash) . .

AVINASH...

Avinash strats going towards his chamber. Attedent suddnlysays...

ATTENDANT(as if he remembered in s a

hurry)

AVINASH...

ATTENDANT...

Avinash just stops at his chamber door for a second thinkingand than opens the door and enters.

CUT

INT. AVINASH'S CHAMBER . DAY

As Avinash enters the chamber, Vamsi swiftly gets up and

hesitatingly greets him with folded hands. Avinash settles into his seat and asks him..

AVINASH.

VAMSI.

AVINASHYah I understand that. . ?

Vamsi takes our a sweet packet from his bag and tries to handover to Avinash.

VAMSI

The sweet packet is still in the hands of Vamsi and

instinctively Avinash leans forward and hold the sweet packand surprisingly looks at Vamsi and says...

AVINASH....

VAMSI(humbly with almost tearsemerging in his eyes)

... . .

. .

Avinash looks at the emotional Vamsi and slowly gets up fromhim chair and comes towards him and sits on the table andtouches Vamsi's shoulder.

AVINASHI can understand what you are tryingto say...but...

Vamsi rises his head and looks at Avinash and starts

speaking...

VAMSI. '' .. ,. .(Avinash moveswith some uncomfortably leavingVamsi)

VAMSI

(continues..) . . . .

Vamsi gets up and shakes Avinash's hands and walks up to thedoor. Avinash is in a mood of shock. Vamsi just stops at thedoor for a second as Avinash is looking at him. Vamsi leavesthe room.

Avinash slowly gets up from the table and sits back on hischair simply looking at the sweet box.

CUT

EXT./INT: CAR ON ROAD : DAY

Avinash is driving the car seriously. The car is on road.Bhavan is sitting next to him. She looks at him and smiles fora second and asks him...

BHAVANA

(teasingly).......

Avinash looks at Bhavana and smiles and says...

AVINASH. ...

BHAVANA(teasingly)

..... ?

Avinash looks at her seriously.

BHAVANA(continues)

....... ...

With a deep sigh Avinash starts narrating as the car picks up

the speed and sun is at the verge of vanishing in to horizon.Bhavana looks on to him curiously.

AVINASH . ....

BHAVANA?

AVINASH(with a smile)

. .BHAVANA

(almost jumps from her seatwide eyed)

What !?!

AVINASH.... .

As Bhavana curiously looks on to him Avinash continues.

AVINASH . .... .

BHAVANA...

AVINASH.

. , ... .

In flash cuts we show the entire episode of Vamsi at clinic.

By the end of flash cuts, we see Avinash's car standing at aroad side. Both Avinash and Bhavana are standing next to it ina silhouette (as the sun set is almost nearing).

BHAVANAwow ! unbelievable. ,, , , ....(rubbing hershoulders and showing her hand)I amgetting goosebumps you see.

Avinash looks at her, smiles and looking at the horizon he islost in his thoughts.

Suddenly Bhavana asks him...

BHAVANA ? !

Avinash suddenly turns towards her. (a baby cry is heard inthe background) A bewildered face he has as if he neverthought about it.

Back ground Music plays on...

CUT.

EXT./INT: BALCONY : NIGHT

Music is still playing...

Avinash is standing in the bedroom balcony looking in to thedark sky. Bhavana sleeping on the bed can be seen.

Bhavana wakes up looks for Avinash on the bed. Looks atbalcony and finds him. She sets her eye on the clock next tothe bed. It is showing 10.30.

Bhavana gets up and walks up to Avinash. By hearing her foot

steps Avinash turns his head towards her. Bhavana comes closeto him and holds his hand and looks at him.

BHAVANA...

AVINASH . ..

.

. .....

Suddenly a phone rings in the bedroom.

BHAVANA... .

Bhavana goes and picks up the mobile and comes back saying...

BHAVANA(while handing over the phone) ...

Avinash picks up the phone and hurriedly switches it on andsays...

AVINASH......

A voice from other side is of Avinash's mother.

AVINASH'S MOTHER(voice)

....

AVINASH(with a surprise)

... .... .


...... . . ..

Avinash is looking tensed. Bhavana comes close to Avinash andholds him. Avinash holds the phone tight and speaks in toit...

AVINASH ?

Bhavan is looking in to Avinash's tensed face.


... ...

Avinsh is quite for a second.

AVINASH'S MOTHER

...

...

AVINASH...

AVINASH'S MOTHER... . , . . . ..

. . .

(As this dialogue is heard, camera moves around Avinash withsound of rain, thunder, a pregnant woman's cry and finally ababy cry is posted)

AVINASH?

AVINASH'S MOTHER

.......! ...

AVINASH.... . .

Bhavana takes Avinash's hand and kisses.

AVINASH(continues)

! . .

AVINASH'S MOTHER

Avinash puts the phone off and looks at Bhavana.

AVINASH...

Bhavana smiles and nods her head. Avinash kisses on herforehead.

CUT

INT./EXT. CAR AND OUTSIDE . DAY

Avinash is driving the car in the road. He looks out toobserve a sweet shop, a flowers shop and a cloths shops. He

simply looks at them and drives on.

A song starts as Avinash drives on.

Avinash reaches a village. He obseves some women at a house heasks them something. One woman show towards a direction andsays..

WOMAN....

.

. ......

Avinash walks towards that direction.

As he reaches the hut, his walk wobbles. He slowly reaches thehut and with trembling hands opens the hut door.

He looks in and closes his eyes for a moment. Slowly walks into the hut.

An old woman is lying dead on the floor. Avinash holds herhand as if to check her pulse and tears in his eyes roll down.

CUT

EXT. A POND BANK . EVENING

Its the sun set time.

A pile of firewood is arranged for final rituals. Somevillagers are standing nearby.

Avinash picks up the fire . He is in his pant and bare body.Avinash lights up the funeral fire. As the fire picks up,Avinash turns back with tears in his eyes.

A title on screen appears " - Thanks giving"
