Plea for magazines!
We are always looking for ways to enhance and broaden reading experiences here at St John's. We would like to build up a collection of children's magazines, newspapers, comics and annuals for our reading corners. If you have any of these at home that are in good condition, we would greatly appreciate donations, big or small. Please send any donations to the office or to Ms Peters in Nursery.
Thank you to the Parent Prayer Group who raised £154.47
from the cake sale held on the last day of term one.
Funds will go towards new RE books for each classroom.

Election as the school will be used as a polling station.
New Vicar for St. John’sAn exciting new chapter in the life of St John’s began this week with the induction of
Reverend Chris Rankine. Fr Chris was ordained in Portsmouth diocese and has served
in six posts including assistant priest of Romsey Abbey, Team Rector of Portway Team
of Andover and, most recently, parish priest of St Lawrence, Eastcote in London
Diocese. A priest with a commitment to a growing, inclusive Anglo-Catholic tradition,
he also brings wide experience in youth and schools work, and enabling churches to
recruit and develop people for ministry.
The pupils look forward to welcoming Fr Chris next week in their assemblies.

Story
Mayor’s Cup Update - The Mayor’s Cup teams played two fantastic matches against strong opposition from Sir John Lillie. The SJL teams, who has scored a combined 28 goals whilst only conceding once in their 4 games, started very strongly in both games. Although St John’s Girls’ arguably played the better football it was SJL who took a 1-0 lead into half time. In the second half, a superb individual goal by Olivia drew the scores level before saves by both goalkeepers meant the game finished 1-1.The St John’s boys started brilliantly in their game and Harley and George both scored very impressive goals to ensure a very well constructed team performance was rewarded with a win. The highlights being the accurate passing and quick movement.
