Cross Country 2019 On Monday 6 May, Years K-6 had their Cross Country Carnival at school. All the students participated, had a fun time with their friends and ran a lot. Even though it was a challenging course, all the kids managed to complete it. The SRC representatives were also a great help. Before all the races, they set up

over 100 cones. During the races they pointed which way to run. Thank you to the parents who came to watch the races and cheer.

Write 4 Fun

Miss Goyen

Don’t cry or you’ll drown in your own tears

“HELP!” I screamed, I was drowning. No one came, I was all alone “was I dying?” I thought to myself. Once again I screamed “HELP!” but louder. I sigh in relief as I see someone trying to help me, when I got out I saw I was just in a paddling pool at my friend’s house! All my friends started laughing. Since then I have never been more embarrassed of myself. I blushed harder than ever I couldn’t believe I thought I was drowning!

I ran home and into my bedroom. I cried for hours until my mum found me. “Stop crying or you’ll drown in your own tears” Giggled mum. “Mum that doesn’t help!” I grumbled. “I think it’ll be better if you learn swimming Olivia” said mum “It’s for your own good”.

The next day I went to school and everyone started telling me “don’t cry or you’ll drown in your own tears!!” I felt like a sore looser and I didn’t like feeling that way so I promised myself whenever its trials for swim school I’m definitely taking part!

Months passed and swim school started Olivia was really nervous that everyone was going to laugh at her so in her mind she kept saying, “You can do this Olivia” Weeks passed and she got better at swimming, Olivia and her mother were really proud of her. One day she made it in zone and she always made it in first place.

Nowadays people always stopped using the phrase “don’t cry or you’ll drown in your own tears” because Olivia is the first person for swimming in all the races.
