We gather leaders of the largest global ECAs to gain executive insight into key issues including:• Ongoing effect of the pandemic and role of ECAs in the global recovery• ECA direct lending; collaboration with DFIs and blended finance, capacity, coverage and volumes• Climate and sustainable policy updates, alignment with Paris Agreement and UN SGDS• Flexibility, transparency and level playing field between OECD and non-OECD ECAs
With ECAs allowing increased flexibility on content, a call for similar action on premiums, increasingly in line with the sustainable merit or positive impact of a project, and a relaxing of down payments, we catch up on the latest developments of the modernisation of the OCED consensus
The pandemic has seen ECA leverage their tools to aid in the recovery effort, including Covid bailouts and support for SMEs, seeing many new clients gained as a result. We ask how can the community maintain new business attracted by crisis? Will there be a new generation of ECA users from the Covid bailout loans?
An overview of this industry first and seminal White Paper initiative. Initial findings from the research on current market practices and views. Opportunities for further contributions to the White Paper.

With renewed effort from governments to support climate and social projects, ECAs are beginning to align their portfolios in unison. Will we see a shift in mandate from supporting industry, to supporting industry as it relates to these projects? And as new technologies and green supply chains emerge can the two-progress hand in hand as dual mandate?12.00 BST

With an ambitious European Green Deal designed to make the EU economy sustainable and meet our 2030 climate and energy targets, combined with similar movements across the globe to mobilize public and private capital to realize the Paris Agreement and UN SDGs. We examine government plans, project pipelines and how we can leverage policy and investment tools to plug the funding gap required?
Our panel of global heads of export finance are tasked with pertinent question relating to our industry:• Project pipeline and predictions of where will volumes come from? When will hard hit industries such as cruise return?• Assessment of sustainability as it relates to the entire portfolio, including power, oil and gas. Speed of change at banks and resulting internal changes to team structure and incentives for deal teams• CIRR rates and availability of bank funding, effect of interest rates and inflation on liquidity, changing nature of funding mix and role of banks in the face of ECA direct lending
Located more than 130km off the North East coast of England, Dogger Bank Wind Farm will be capable of powering 6 million British homes. We examine the £5.5 billion project financing of the 1.2 GW Dogger Bank A and 1.2 GW Dogger Bank B offshore wind farms and asses how we can replicate similar projects going forward.
With varying accounts on the numbers of years left for ECA support for fossil fuel projects what cover will be available and how will this change in the next 5-10 years? What criteria will need to be met? How will new technologies including carbon capture ensure the survival of petrochemical industries? What steps are being taken to make these more sustainable or transitionary?

BRIEFING: COMEBACK KID? THE PRIVATE MARKET POST PANDEMIC
10.00 BST (11:00 CEST)
2020 saw a retrenchment of private market cover in many insurance books, especially relatedto activities in Africa, with heightened risk assessment leaving many emerging market buyers struggling to raise the 15% down payment typically required for ECA covered deals. 100% cover has been tipped as solution for ECA debt in emerging markets, in light of this what are the plans of the CPRI market? And what assurance can they give that they are open for business? Will banks regain confidence in their ability to distribute risk? What does this mean for purposes of capital relief?James Esdaile, Managing Director, BPL GlobalIan Nunn, Head of UK & Lloyd's Political Risk, AXA XL Vlad Bobko, Head of Crisis Management, AON Gary Lowe, Global Head & Managing Director, Global Credit Insurance Group, Standard Chartered BankModerator: Katharine Morton, Head of Trade, Treasury & Risk, TXF
