Casualty Market OverviewAn introduction to the key issues that will be addressed throughout the day’s program. Includes a statistical overview of the casualty market based on proprietary Advisen Market Insights™ and Loss Insights™ data

The Risk Manager’s Perspective on Casualty Risks and the Casualty Insurance Market Is the insurance market doing a good job of addressing the casualty risk management and insurance needs of large corporations? A panel of risk managers will discuss their casualty exposures and assess the performance of their brokers and insurers. Additionally, the panel will discuss various risk management strategies for casualty exposures.

Cyber Security Exposures: Should Liability Insurers be Concerned? Insurers have attempted to exclude most cyber-related exposures from CGL policies. Have they been successful? This session will examine CGL, umbrella and excess liability coverage issues as concerns privacy and data security exposures, and review the often-conflicting decisions in coverage litigation.

Product Liability in a Global Business Environment As companies seek to expand into new markets, and as supply chains stretch around the world, product liability risks become far more complex. A panel of expert insurers, lawyers and brokers will explain the legal and regulatory frameworks defining product liability in major marketplaces around the world, discuss the challenges facing companies who increasingly source parts and materials from remote and often unfamiliar suppliers, and outline risk management and insurance solutions.

Commercial Auto: The Technological Revolution in Loss Control and InsuranceMotor carriers and the transportation industry as a whole increasingly are incorporating state-of-the-art loss control tools such as onboard safety systems, efficient routing software, virtual training simulators, ergonomic seating, driver cameras and predictive modeling. These technologies often more than pay for themselves by improving compliance with regulations, increasing efficiency, and improving safety, therefore reducing expenses such as insurance costs, downtime and legal expenses. Panelists will review these new technologies, examining their pros and cons, and discuss the impact they are having (or are likely to have) on commercial automobile insurance.

Umbrella and Excess Liability: Coverage, Claims and Underwriting Issues Excess casualty business is inherently more volatile than primary business. This session will examine the forces that are impacting umbrella and excess underwriting results, and will explore trends and developments that will influence capacity and cost in the coming years. Additionally, panelists will discuss recent developments in coverage issues such as the insolvency of an underlying carrier, challenges to follow form coverage, and issues associated with the exhaustion of underlying limits.

CEO panel: The State of the Casualty Insurance MarketCEOs of leading insurers and brokers will discuss economic, regulatory, legal and P&C market trends and how they influence decisions concerning their companies’ casualty books of business. They also will discuss casualty loss reserve adequacy, and how that may impact pricing and capacity in the coming years.
