SUNSHINE RESCUE MISSIONNEEDS YOUR HELP THIS THANKSGIVING!
STRENGTHENING AND LENGTHENING OUR COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY
This is the time of year when we count on your kindness to be the hands and feet of Jesus to the many people we serve in Northern Arizona.
Last year Sunshine Rescue Mission handed out 275 food boxes feeding 1106 people. To pack those boxes we needed 275 turkeys, 309 5lb. bags of potatoes, 344 packets of gravy mix, 344 bags of stuffing, 320 cans of yams, 357 cans of cranberries, 230 pies mixes, and 260 cans of evaporated milk.
We invite you to become a part of this ministry by having a food drive at your church, home group, school or civic organization. Call Lupe at 928-707-0082 and tell us what your food drive will be collecting and your group’s goal. The food drives should conclude by November 6th. The Mission will be happy to send the truck to pick up your donations.
We also welcome volunteers to help pack and distribute the boxes. To volunteer, call The Mission at 928-774-3512. Your participation will ensure that Sunshine Rescue Mission is able to serve all those in need this Thanksgiving!

Brandin’s Story“Over the past year I have received a solid foundation in Christ Jesus.”
My name is Brandin and this is my story and how I came to know Jesus...
Before I came to Christ, I was a horrible person who cared for no one, not even myself. People were just pieces on a chess board whose only value was what I could get out of them. Everyone was expendable. All that mattered were my addictions: drugs, alcohol, sex, violence. I took anything I could get my hands on so that I didn’t have to deal with me.
So after 22 years on a path of destruction, God found me in the woods, high on meth. He told me, ‘no more’, which pissed me off. I couldn’t get high anymore.
So after three hours of cursing God at the top of my lungs, I calmed down and asked Him what He wanted me to do. He told me to go The Mission. So I did. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior and joined the Discipleship program. Over the past year I have received a solid foundation in Christ Jesus.
Now I am the community outreach truck driver for Sunshine Rescue Mission, Inc.
What a blessing, Brandin
INTRODUCING KEVIN EBERHARDTOUR NEW LIFE FOUNDATIONS COORDINATOR
Kevin Eberhardt accepted Jesus as his Savior on January 19, 1985. He became the pastor of a small church in Washington two years later. During his eight years there he ran a men’s ministry, A Shelter from Darkness, where he mentored many men. Twenty-one years ago he moved his family to Flagstaff to be the pastor of a local church. Not long after, the Lord told him to concentrate on being a dad, so he left the ministry. In 2009 he returned to the ministry and traveled around the country preaching for The Builder’s Ministry.
In the summer of 2016 Kevin joined The Mission as the New Life Foundations Coordinator, formerly the Discipleship program. His vision for New Life Foundations is to bring more men into the program and mentor their spiritual growth, train them in life work skills, help them become involved in the community and find jobs. “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus: Philippians 4, v. 13-14.
Kevin and his wife, Debbie, have three grown children, two boys and a girl and nine grandchildren.
