Radiator steel structure installation instructions manual

1. purpose:

We draft the work in structure to ensure the radiator of Thaiflex Thailand

project can be installed in site smoothly.

2. The basis:

Reference drawing no.: 40-0435-0000 Rev.1.

3. The scope of application:

It is applicable for installation on site for Thaiflex Thailand project.

4. Safety Precautions：

4.1 Installation, operation and maintenance should carry out by qualified

engineer, also has good understanding of all rules and conditions of this

instruction. Make sure that process will follow the instruction. DO NOT

take any operation under unprofessional people.

4.2 If any difference was discovered according to this instruction and

accessories kit instruction please notify supplier in writing (email or fax).

Inform our After-Sales Service department formally.

4.3 Any failure of follow instruction which caused by modification without

consulting KELVION in writing approve, KELVION will not be responsible

for such problem.

4.4 The cooling system is closed circulation, water (oil) should be clean and

free from foreign matters or else the pipelines may be blocked.

4.5 The cooling air must be clean and free from corrosive foreign matters

such as acid and alkali. Air inlet surface air distribution should evenly.

4.6 When radiator out of use in winter time MUST drain fluid out completely

or add some antifreeze (glycol) into system; long out of using for other

season MUST drain fluid completely.



5. Installation:

5.1 Requirements:

5.1.1 Installation engineer should have appropriate professional

qualifications and experience.

5.1.2 Please follow principle below to select installation location for

radiator:

5.1.2.1 Must install radiator outdoors.

5.1.2.2 There should be no walls around radiator, which will

affect air ventilation and hot air exhaust. The additional

air resistance of environment to radiator is not

considered in fan design.

5.1.2.3 To choose installation location, please avoid smog

source and contamination to air-ventilation causes by

other equipment nearby radiator, also over heated air at

inlet. Besides, pay attention the impact of monsoon wind

blow-direction, which may blow contaminated or heated

air back to inlet that will result in hot air circulation or

passage contamination.

5.1.2.4 Any vertical obstacles (if there is any) must be away at

least 2m from radiator. The air inlet and air outlet should

have enough clear distance, and no obstacles with in

1.5m distance. The larger vent area, the larger

necessary clearance distance will request.

5.1.2.5 Extension devises (including legs and retaining plates)

must be installed at an integral plane of solid foundation.

The load design must base on total weight of radiator



containing liquid and additional loads such as wind, snow

and earthquake. If foundation bolts (prepared by

customers) used for fixing, should also consider factors

above.

5.1.2.6 If several equipments installed at one place running at

same time, it is recommended to arrange them in parallel

way. In this circumstance, must to increase radiator

installation heights satisfy air in taken surface request.

5.1.2.7 When a radiator is installed horizontally, it must be

convenient to exhaust the residual air in it completely.

5.2 Preparations:

Before installation, first remove fin protective-plate, and covering items

of air inlet & outlet side, water (oil) tube connecting flange. Wash off

preservers from sealing surfaces of air side and water (oil) side by using

proper detergent. Taking care painted surfaces during such process.

5.3 Lifting:

5.3.1 Select proper lifting equipment according to radiator weight.

5.3.2 Use crane lift radiator, following suspension angles must be

ensured:

� In the length direction: α≤90°

� In the width direction: β≤50°~70°

Use lifting beam when necessary. See Fig.



Warning: forbid use forklift ascension radiator, it will damage the

radiator frame and aluminum fin.

5.3.3 It is not allowed that standing at radiator, carry or move it through

any fixed accessories (expansion tank, electrical junction box etc)

and coil as lifting point.

5.4 Assembly and connection:

5.4.1 First of all, ensure radiator installation level horizontally. If

necessary, some cushion blocks of different thicknesses may be

used to make the radiator level during installation.

5.4.2 Must consider equipment load as a whole during civil and

foundation construction, such as volume of cooling liquid; weight

of steel structure, expansion tank (water or oil) etc. Please see

equipment general drawing and relevant literature for total loads

details.

5.4.3 Under normal circumstances, the core assembly of the radiator

has been assembled. However, for sake of safe transportation,

the supporting steel members and other parts might be

disassembled before transportation. In this case, the stability of

the equipment must be ensured when it is reassembled. Put the

equipment on the installation foundation, level up, straighten and

fix it, and finally connect the pipelines.

5.4.4 Steel structure installation:

First review steel structure drawings, Lifting and positioning

support column anchor position (below) :

5.4.5 Radiator installation:

- According to the general arrangement drawing will be the first radiator

lifting and use bolts on the steel structure support, Check the verticality and

levelness of radiator.

- Lifting the second radiator and fixed on the steel structure support, check

the two radiators in and out of the distance between the flanges. The

dimensions must be the same with general arrangement drawing. If not, must

make the adjustment.



- According to the above methods, install the third radiator.

5.4.6 All joint faces should parallel to each other and meet seal

requirement; no joint face should bear additional loads. Flexible

connection is recommended.

5.4.7 Wiring of motors: normally, connecting terminals and cable

sheaths are provided at external surface of radiator, wiring operation

can be done by users directly, but lead-in cable should be prepared by

users. Earth terminal is on the connecting ends. For specific operations,

please see relevant drawings.

5.5 Attention:

NEVER use adapter tube of radiator as negative grounding electrode!

During electric welding it may be perforated by electric sparks.

Manufacturer will not responsible for the consequences hereby caused.
