� Pakistan Botanical Society (PBS) is one of the

leading societies that aim to cultivate, promote and

disseminate knowledge of all branches of plant

science

� Ever since its inception in 1968, PBS has grown

steadily over the years and now has a vast

membership of plant scientists from all over the country and abroad

� PBS provides an opportunity to active researchers to

present their work and generate discussions for

further planning of their research. PBS also

publishes bi-monthly “Pakistan Journal of Botany”

� One of the major activities of the society is to

organize National and International Conferences

regularly

� So far the society has successfully organized 13

national and 4 international Plant Scientists

Conferences. The 14th National and 5th International

Conference of Plant Scientists will be held during

January 15-18, 2016 at the University of Karachi,

Pakistan. Located on the

coast of the Arabian Sea and

north-west of the Indus River

Delta, Karachi was the first capital of Pakistan, and now serves as the cultural, economic, philanthropic,

educational and political hub, as well as the largest port

of the country. Karachi has an arid climate; the weather

during January is slightly cool with temperature ranging

from 10 to 26 °C in January.

Abstract submission

Abstracts should be submitted as soft copy in MS Word for

Windows or Rich Text Format. E-mail address of the

presenting author should be provided.

Oral Presentation

For each oral presentation 15 min are allocated including the

discussion time. Speakers are requested to prepare their

presentations brief. On-line presentations (via Skype) can be

arranged for registered foreign participants on request;

certificate of participation will be sent to them by post. A

Gold Medal will be awarded to the best oral presenter.

Poster Presentation

Participants/students are advised to participate in poster

presentation. Posters will be evaluated by three referees and

distinction certificates will be awarded to top three

participants. Posters should be 4x3 feet in size.

Registered foreign participants can also submit their poster

by airmail or as a PDF file at least 10 days prior to the

conference. It will be displayed at the conference and a

certificate of participation will be sent to them by post.

Proceedings

Each paper will be peer-reviewed by 2 reviewers before

publication in a special issue of Pakistan Journal of Botany.

Accommodation

Limited accommodation is available on special discounted

conference rates on first come first serve basis. Reservation

in local hotels (on self-payment basis) can also be
